Quake Golem + Ritual mine field DotH

Has anyone else ran into an issue when purple boils fill the ritual site RIGHT OVER the golem that's underground?
I love the diversity of monsters in rituals, but why aren't they spawning like in Trials of Sek.? (above ground, ready to fight - like in the hour glass trials)
3 rituals, 3 suicides just to activate them. I thought "hey, maybe i can wait them out" only for them to reappear right over them lol
I've had it happen twice....Maybe it's just my luck?
