PoE 2 skill tree vs PoE 1 skill tree
Hello,
the skill tree in PoE 2 is much bigger than in PoE 2 and they advertised the game with it, at least I think some YouTubers did. But that doesn't mean it's better. I feel that I don't really have to think about much when choosing my path in the skill tree. Either it works, or it doesn't. If it doesn't work I respecc into more defensive skills like energy shield recharge rate. But the choices are very flat in comparison to PoE 1, where I had the feeling that every step counts and I have to think about every point I spend. I don't have that feeling in PoE 2. In PoE 2 I go like: "Where's more fire damage? Ah, there it is." Probably takes around 10 seconds at most to make a decision when I level up. In PoE 1 I spend around a minute, sometimes two minutes or more reading everything and thinking about my choices. I don't know exactly why that is, but I believe it's because PoE 1 skill nodes are more "convoluted" than PoE 2 skill nodes. It's made not so obvious which path you should go and which nodes you should invest in, although there are the nodes which are like:"This is for two-handed weapons and you will do more damage, etc.", it's not always so simple. And then I believe it's because of the masteries. But like I said, I am not sure why that is since I am not a veteran PoE 1 player. It's just one of those things that I feel PoE 1 still does better than PoE 2 and I hope the devs will work on this. Cheers Last bumped on Apr 23, 2025, 4:54:59 AM
