Smith of Kitava 90/90/90 and Chaos 75%

Hello there.

i was just wondering is ele resistance working as it should? I take INSANE amount of elemental damage and Sun Priests are insanely deadly.

Tho Priests can shoot thru walls, at least in Seepage... Took me a "bit" of an surprise, so I don't have screenshot. Also killed me in 2 seconds.

Anyway. That was kinda the point of Smith? At least I thought so. It would get resists 90/90/90 easily.

Also Chaos damage wipes floor with me. I know this is not Poe1, but should those resists mean something at least?

I'm wearing Fire Cloak.

Ya I built a smith of Kitava and there is DEFINITELY something wrong with elemental damage taken in POE2. I feel like there's barely any difference between 75% res and 90% res.

It definitely seems like something is bugged but without access to detailed damage logs (raw + taken damage), it's hard to say what the problem is.

I agree my Smith seems super squishy, which is just insane.
It is working just fine to me. How much life do you have?

Also, that fire beam is a DoT (obviously), so it might appears to deal more damage if you don't have enough life regen.

About chaos dmg, 75% is fine for most situations, but not all of them. Those Volatile Plants, for example, on t15 are hitting almost 1k dmg (each) even with 75% chaos resist. By the way, GGG should nerf that. If not the dmg, then its cooldown, which is way too short.
I don`t know, I feel super tanky, these sun priests barely tickle me.

Which map mods did you have and how much life and regen do you have?
Damage taken is not balanced in any PoE game. It's so ridiculous. It's always kill before being killed.

I've said the same thing over and over this league.
I feel like elemental res isn't working as it should or they completely changed how it works.
I was never his hard capped on res/defenses last league and never had an issue.
Now I'm maxed out res, evasion, energy shield, HP and still can just get insta gibbed in maps.
This never happen like this last league.
And there is nothing meaningful about combat if I just get deleted by something invisible and have no idea whatever it was what kind of damage it was.
The player needs to know what the hell is even going on screen to try to solve it.

This league like the entire ground just seems to explode whenever it wants for no reason at all.
Those annoying electrical elements that walk at you used to be annoying because they would follow you far to long after the monster dies.
Now it's actually infinite?? They will not despawn until they blow up.
On-top of all the ground effects stuff just monster box spawning enemies under you, enemies off screen lasering you off screen, projectiles just coming at you from all sides from no where on maps.

This isn't chill farm for loot end game like it should be and why everyone is leaving and nobody wants this.

I can confirm that the Sun Preists laser attack is not a DoT. I'm wearing the unique helm that allows my Thorns to retaliate against any Hit and it works vs that beam.

The preists either stunlock or outright kill themselves whenever they try using it on me!

Thx for the info, I didn't know that. But even if it counts as multiple hits, it is still a "DoT-like" dmg, so what I said still applies.
Just fix the priests FFS. they have been an issue since the game came out and its literally just a matter of cutting their range to like 1/3 of what it is right now. If they wanna keep this stupid 30m beam then at least reduce the damage it does the further away the player is
You people do know that beam can be persistently dodge rolled out of, LOSed and has a cooldown?
How about you learn to play instead of asking for handouts?
