"Boss" and "Wisp" loot are not the problem...
ALL loot is the problem.

" 5000% may would be a little overkill but It's the first time i'm very unhappy with the upcomming updates since 0.2 launch. It looked like it went into the right direction. An i think the changes might help with loot issues especially during the campaign. But Map loot is an absolute disaster if you are not grinding 24/7 with an op ls build right now. Everything I do feels pointless. I used up all of my little currency i had and tried to juice maps. I used 25 ex and all my regals and got 1 quant/rare map. It dropped 0 exalts in return. I then ran an expedition logbook since it droped in that map. Result 1 Transmute orb 2 magic items (blue) 3 Rare items (yellow. 2 maps 4 Circle artifacts 2 tier 3 supports the rest where white items and scrolls of wisdom. I hit 3 yellow shrines with quant and mob amount and got absolutely nothing in return. And this was with an disabled loot filter picking up everything which dropped. ![]() Why am i even trying to progress in the first place? |

Theres a decent amount of rare item drops, but the vast majority of them are useless because there are no good builds in POE2 other than lightning spear. Even if you found a great body armour, if it was anything other than evasion / ES, it is basically instantly garbage. Game is completely unbalanced, and it always will be if they nerf the fuck out of everything and wait for 1 breakaway class to dominate the game

Boss loot is 100% the problem in campaign and, as worded in the announcement, this improvement is aimed at the campaign.
If they want intense and challenging boss fights, the loot needs to match. Getting an unusable rare and a few magic items from a 5-10 minute fight in which you potentially die a few times is very defeating. (Although, I haven't had too many issues with boss fights personally, I've seen a number of players complain that they have. It's still underwhelming to get almost the equivalent of a rare mob's loot from a boss.) |

Boss loot is not "the" problem, it's "one of" the many problems.
ALL loot is terrible, it's not just boss loot. Slapping more loot onto a few bosses will not remediate the issue. It's a stop gap placation, nothing more. ~ Seph

" This. The announcement is a bad joke. Great that they want to improve loot from bosses and wisps, but they only make up for 10% of our loot or something, and that's being generous. On top, it's pure gamba at this point what GGG means with "improving loot drops". Do we get now 4 "level 3 support gems" instead of 2, or a regal orb instead of 1 rare we can disenchant? Technically an improvement, realistically not. [Removed by Support]

" It sucks yes I have only 21% rarity right now but I just cant get more without starting to get oneshot every 3 mob packs again. I'm not res capped my clearing speed is ok but not the best. I need 8-11 minutes per map depending on how much content it has. I could solve the rarity problem by just trading for it but I planned on playing ssf and just went without it just in case. I basically only sell things because trading feels like it trivialize progress. I would just skip the gearing up part went straight to t4 arb and would have no real goal left. This is how it went for me in 0.1 and I got bored of it fast of doing maps and any endgame content. So trading for me currently is just a way to at least get some currency to play the game. But even with that it feels like shit. It looks like you are at least required to have 100+ rarity to get some loot at all. But without this you struggle to get rarity in the first place. It's a very bad design in my opinion. And even people who are farming with high rarity and insane builds + gear have the same issue of not getting a lot of stuff. As soon as the majority of "casual" players will hit that point player numbers will take a deep dive. I'm close to quiting too even though my character & build in general is fun. The loot is not.
