My Valid Xbox Key for PoE2 Was Revoked After 4 Months — No Real Support or Explanation

So I redeemed a legit Xbox key for Path of Exile 2 Early Access months ago. It was a gift from a friend who already had the game, and it worked right away through the Xbox store. I’ve been playing for over 4 months—no issues, no warnings, no bans.

Suddenly, I no longer have access. I’m told I don’t own the game, even though the key was valid, activated by Microsoft, and used regularly. I contacted support and was basically told they won’t discuss it unless the guy who gave me the key emails them directly… even though it’s been redeemed on my account this entire time.

Let’s be real: If there was an issue with the key, it should’ve been caught before activation—not months later after I’ve put time in. Taking away access now is shady, and the lack of a proper explanation feels like a dodge.

I also have a ticket open with Microsoft Support because this looks like a mishandled license issue. I’m not trying to be a problem—but this ain’t how a legit game company should be handling digital access.

If someone from GGG can actually explain what happened instead of passing the buck, that’d be appreciated. Otherwise, I’m escalating it however I need to. This isn’t a good look.

Noone plays the game but me and linking this thread does absolutely nothing for me. Ggg was trying to lie and say that my key was only to download the game until I showed them a screenshot of my friend who received it from them for being a supporter
Your friend will have to email support@grindinggear.com about this as he was the one who obtained the EA key.

Yeah, I’ve seen that line repeated a lot—but let’s be real: once a key is redeemed on my Xbox account, it becomes my license. Doesn’t matter who originally bought it.

I didn’t hack anything, glitch anything, or use some workaround. The key was legit, redeemed clean, and gave me full access for 4 months. If there was a problem with the key, GGG should’ve flagged it before activation, not after I’ve sunk time into the game.

This isn’t a favor someone did for me—it’s a system they built, and it functioned like any normal game license. Now they wanna revoke it with no warning, no reason, and no accountability? Yeah… that’s not how any of this should work.

Already working with Microsoft support on it, but GGG’s lack of transparency just makes them look worse in the process.
It's crazy how ggg won't discuss stealing from me
