No loot, no diversity

Remove loot from any ARPG and say goodbye to players.
In POE2 the passive tree and ascendancies are so weak more or less the entire experience relies on loot, and gem sockets.

This games gives you nothing of either, for most players.
The majority of player power and progression during the campaign comes from vendor trades and gambling.

How can this be intended? What is the point of killing monsters if they do not drop rewards?

GGG needs to understand the basics of dopamine; drops triggers dopamine.

I'm very excited to see what happens to POE2 once Last Epoch releases in a day.
They have loot, crafting, and insane diversity. Most skills will make you feel more powerful in a wonderful curve throughout the campaign and endgame.

Not every build will take you to the last of the endgame, but you can lock in hundreds of hours of fun and progression before hitting a wall; and with a campaign that takes 2 hours, and shortcuts enabled, trying another build is seamless.

GGG, you need to end this ruthless experience POE2 currently have. You don't want it to be POE1 -fine, I get that.
But the moment you stop the loot train, your game dies.

The Campaign is really bad. It might be fun for the first tiem, because it has some challenging part, but every time afterwards its a slog.
Less towers, less quantity of items, and 3 precursors with item quantity needed for each tower only to still add up to less than before. More types of item drops therefore less weighting for the item you are actually looking for. Even if you found a "good item" theoretically speaking, all the classes are broken if they aren't doing lightning damage, preferably with spears. Armour and evasion gear worthless. Armour and Energy Shield worthless. Less value for basically everything unless it relates to the one popular build. Breach density sucks yet it seems to still require you to kill as much as before to keep the damned thing open. Get 5 splinters, need 300. Get a breachstone but HOWA is a piece of garbage now. No good drops from Pinnacle bosses. I'm trying to find fun in this game and it feels like they went out of their way to get rid of it. Used to have 120% item quantity on my towers now I have 15%. Supposed to get excited about running these maps with useless breaches and no items?

You know how bad the loot in 0.2.0 is?

I played "Last Epoch" yesterday to prepare for the next launch and to test/adjust some things; and on a new character after 15 mins I got a rare weapon dropped that made me soy pog and then when useful shards dropped a few minutes later I went "Log In dood"...

I have to agree 1000% on what any ARPG requires in order to make me feel purpose in playing beyond a "story or campaign"

Said ARPG needs the loot draw.

All they managed to do was take loot that already sucked in STD and made it 10x MORE stingy than before.

Jonathan said in an interview... We dont want people to feel they need to gimp their chars by wasting stats on rarity.

This to me sounded like yes we get it players want loot, after .2 they shouldnt feel the need to stack rarity....

Guess what .2 is here and Im stacking the F out of rarity and getting absolute JACK shit.

Gamble all your gold away on strong box
Gamble for item
Play slot machine to craft

But dont expect playing the game itself to give you better stuff than risking sometging to get somethin.

This is their formula....give something for chance at something.

Not play the game for something.

Hope they fix this side of the game cuz loot is absolutely garbage. Got 2 exalts in like 10 maps last night.

I like the game but prob wishful thinking that in this Fan Duel / Draft Kings world we can actually kill a mob for loot.

I didn't even complete the campaign this season, did it 3 times over 0.1. Some people, myself included, are here for the endgame. Putting a long drawn out campaign in front of our actual goals is going to drive us away.

It's like if a developer said "You have to read the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance cover to cover before you can do maps", and eventually the goal isn't worth the journey to get there.

Yup, main reason im quitting this patch tomorrow and hopping on Last Epoch. Playing 3-4h a day, 120% rarity on gear, triple tablet towers, juiced waystones, 30 points on atlas into rares, mob density etc. I go out of my way to stack quant/rarity, and i get jack sh*t out of it. Absolutely terrible experience. I will not play a game that makes me miserable and downright angry. Crafting basically non existant, 1 shots corpse explosions from enemies offscreen, insane attribute requirements for gems/gear, i could go on and on.

And btw, ruthless in poe was much better than this game. PoE1 was in a great state when they introduced ruthless, great build diversity, game was properly balanced in most aspects, there was crafting, atlas with league mechanics etc. I get it that it was over the top when it comes to end game speed, zooming maps in 30 seconds etc. I have no problems with slowing the game down and making it more challenging, but this is absurd right now.
