WASD Movement—Highly Recommend Giving It a Shot

Just wanted to share a quick tip from my experience. I played through all of Season 1 and up to around level 50 in Season 2 using the traditional click-to-move setup with keyboard and mouse. Eventually, I decided to switch over to WASD movement—and I’ve got to say, after a short adjustment period, it’s been a massive improvement.

Movement feels way more responsive and natural now. I can strafe, dodge, reposition, and weave through mobs so much more effectively. It really took my gameplay to another level. If you haven’t given it a try yet, I’d definitely recommend testing it out—you might be surprised how much it improves your control and survivability.

I can assure you the mouse is better and more accurate for controlling your character.

All you need is the correct settings to be ready.

First setting is to raise your mouse DPI for example I prefer around 3200 DPI for path of exile game. Dont ask me how I can follow with mouse speed it is just habit that I developed during my gaming career.

The second setting is to use movement click only in the left or right click. Many new players put the default attack click in the left or right button and use that for their movement which is wrong. In many cases, your character will stuck attacking when you want it to be moving.

Try that and see how the gameplay will be smooth and easy even in boss fights where their skills are a joke and easy to dodge.


Finally, there is a mechanic called kiting which requires you to place your mouse behind your character for movement and then fast on enemies to attack in a repeated way. If you master this your gameplay will be faster in terms of clearing and pushing compared to using WASD which might cause you to move in circles and dodge more than it is needed.
