My general feedback about 0.2 after week of playing

I already did multiple feedbacks in the past.
For context I have no intent to bash developers. I think they doing great job in making game. I want to share my honest opinion about what's currently good and bad. I have over 5k hours in poe 1 and ~350 hrs currently in poe 2. I decided to stop playing currently because I feel burned out. There are reason which I think contributed most to that feeling. Again I don't want to blame GGG for that. Just hope staff can get some insights from my perspective. 1. It's almost same as 0.1 in terms of content.

I get that GGG working really hard to release full game and this point have no negative attitude towards GGG.
I just feel that there is no enough content currently. I would really prefer to have new league mechanic in 0.3 which will add ways to play game. As in poe 1 you can farm a lot of things. Game is very big and complex sandbox to me. I like to run heist, I like rituals, I like crafting clusters, gamble craft with recombinator, synthetising bases with harvest. I like min-maxing current character and experiment with unpopular builds and skills. I get that that amount of content is surreal to implement in short time. And I don't ask for that. I just hope that game will have new entertainments in 0.3 that will modify game that way so it feels as completely new game (blight, heist, tota and so on). 2. Some ascnedancies and skills are weak when others are imbalanced.

Looking at amazon and tactician creates impression that they weren't released in same patch. What I am hoping for is more diversity in everything. Currently there is no point in playing non-meta skills. Some skills and ascendancies are being designed with no subjectivness in them. I mean look at Tactician (I did feedback post about this ascendancy). After I tried to play with "synergetic" skills (ballistas, siege cascade) I feel that it's just doesn't work. I decided to switch to greandes and they are 10 times better on tactician even they have no synergy with ascendancy. And main problem lays in skills being weak. Siege cascade is awfully bad vs single target. I would really like for underused skills to receive huge buffs to be on pair with popular ones. I get that grenades are underused too. But for them problem lays in some clunkiness. But they are really good. And this design seems really cool to me. It just frustrates people that they can't play skill because it is not supposed to play the way people looks at them. Almost all caster skills are underwhelming now just because last league they were popular. Poison and bleed especially are underwhelming. Ignite is non-existant. I would really like GGG to stop nerfing to the ground popular builds. If you release new ascendancies and skills people WILL be trying them. It's okay to have strong builds from previous league that will compete with new classes. Look at lightning spear. Is it worse than spark last league? I think it is not. Yes many aspects of archmage was broken (btw I didn't even played it, just good example) but combining all the nerfs its just weak now. I feel reason behind that to move more players to new classes to get more valuable feedback development wise. But for many players it is not a test. And they don't get paid to test the game. They are rewarded with game itself, with ability to play. So desire to play leading to more valuable feedback from players. And people like to play what they think are cool. I would 100% be playing arc if it wasn't shit at the start (and maybe now, didn't tested it after buff). 3. Frustrating atlas.

I get that poe 2 endgame is all about new atlas and there is now way to go back to poe 1 style. But currently there are so many things that frustrates me. New atlas feels like delve 2. And I really hate delve. You forced to run maps you don't like. You are constantly searching for corruption nexuses and towers. If you like to "juice" some league mechanic you need to search for overlapping towers, then buy tablets (which people are not very willing to sell, try it yourself). For tablets I decided to use notorious discord server and it reminded me bad days of sextants. And to play even more efficiently you have to minimize pathing trough tower overlapping. I get that not many people are playing same way. But for many people like me it's matter to "juice" your content. Phercia was fantastic in that term. In levels you can boost your returns from league mechanic was awesome. But in poe 2 just even little juicing requires a lot of tedious work. Running maps on atlas one by one feels not organic at all. I just can't convince myself that I enjoying that. Many people don't like heist. Imagine making heist core endgame mechanic. Sounds lame right? But hear me out. Current atlas is delve 2 with sextants. And just by looking at poe 1 delve and sextants popularity it becomes clear that making it mandatory is not very good decision (at least the way it is now). Why is our core late game mechanic is combination of 2 not really good received things? I can't really imagine how to improve current systems. Tablet which lets you skip maps is one of my favorite things this league. I came up with a concept which may feel inspire or provide some ideas for you. What if we start from tower. Which lets you choose 1->2->3 tablets (depending on current tier). Maybe idol-like style where you provide your own idols. Then you can clear maps around this tower. After you pass threshold you can decide to proceed to new tower or stay here and complete left maps. This system eliminates in constant buying tablets. You can farm mechanics you like. You can invest and min-max your atlas. You didn't forced to move from one map to another graph-style. I get that my solution is not universal for all players. And players often came up with not working solutions. But I feel that stated problem is mostly universal. And I really would like to receive some improvements to current atlas. 4. Lack of structurized feedback

How about performing league wide feedback survey on week 2-3 of league? Reward players with free mtx. As I stated before I know that players are bad in coming up with solutions. But they are good in locating problems. I think that would massively improve understanding of players needs.
5. Current bonus content (League mechanics)

Simulacrum is giga busted even on difficulty 1. There is no way current difficulty is intended. All others mechanics are doable on any defense based build. Simulacrum is not in my opinion. I couldn't do it last league. I can't do it this league. Compare it to any other league mechanic on difficulty 1. Bosses are trivial with good investment. They are hard on difficulty 5 (couldn't kill king diff 5). But simulacrum are too hard even on difficulty 1. Ritual is ok but feels kinda meh compared to poe 1 ritual. That's understandable as game is more strict with loot. Breach is super dead. Bad density, bad loot, nerfed bosses uniques. Expedition is nothing compared to poe 1. I like current expedition merchants. I feel they are very fair and cool source of gamble. But logbooks feel pointless to me. Ultimatum too hard for having such a bad loot. Sanctum loot nerfed hard after mobs rarity nerf. But are still good source for jewels and I really like it. Essences worth 0. I corrupted every essence I encountered till level 90. And I get maybe 2-3 greater essences from that. I was jebaited by rogue exiles nodes on atlas. But it effectively doing nothing. They still very rare. And even if you meet them they are wearing thrash loot. Spirits feeling like bad torment spirit. Unique loot are pretty useless and worth 0 mostly. Unique maps are cool. I really liked them. Atlas tree is not exciting at all. Most of passives are doing nothing. It is not worth taking anything except pack size and explicit effects. 6. Market situation

I don't know exact reason but market this league feels very bad. People are not willing to interact with each other. Lots of price fixing. Bug abused mirror tier items. Something feels really odd but I can't describe what exactly.
7. Cool ascendancies

I feel that poe 2 ascendancies are very cool. Mostly. They are so unique and flavored and they feels a lot like Phercia ascendancies. I would like GGG to continue as they do it now. More experiments and brave decisions are what players like to see.
8. Music and visuals are superb

Can't describe how much I enjoy everything that happens on screen and my ears.
In conclusion I would like to address problem with early access. It's understandable that game has direct roadmap and it's hard to pivot in the middle of development. But truth is GGG has to decide how they perceive early access. Is it full game with content patches or uncomplete game with constant development patches? Because if it's first then GGG should be able to pivot to players needs and entertainment. Even if it means that full release will be out later. Then it is understandable how they would monetize game and maintain its popularity. Otherwise I feel that "league" style patches bringing more negativity to the community opinion. Steam reviews are tainted for a long time. And I don't support this kind of behavior from players but you can't blame them. They are people that feel lied to. If it is second then GGG should not make leagues in my opinion as it pushes full release to later date. Just release poe 1 leagues. Original player base will be still happy. But in my opinion that can create situation where final product is far from players expect it to be. Honestly I would like for GGG to alternate leagues between poe 1 and 2 with half-year cycle. That will give more time for GGG to develop leagues and content patches for poe 2. I feel that GGG currently in a very hard situation as they had a lot of work to do before release of poe 2. But I wish them luck and hope they will eventually release best arpg that will surpass even poe 1. Discussions and criticism are welcome.
