Is the Warden of the Core boss fight easier now?

In Jiquani's Sanctum, you touch the Large Soul Core and spawn the snake machine boss. In 0.1.0, once it was at low HP it would spam a laser network. I've not seen that laser network in 0.2.0 - there is no phase 2 of the boss fight anymore.
