Campaign feedback, delta between campaign loot and early map loot feels too large
|
Just some quick comments after I've had a few days to think over the campaign experience
Number one complaint: Add an out of combat sprint. Speed up automatically, lose the speed when any enemies are onscreen (onscreen being player variable, some large range is fine, just something to cut down on the annoyance of backtracking and treading over empty ground - and no, checkpoints do not solve this as is) Difficulty: I enjoy this. Please don't tune this down to the point of D4, they ruined that game for me because there's zero challenge to be found in either gearing or gameplay. I think a few of the bosses may have slightly too large health pools for the point in the game you reach them, but see below on loot. In general I appreciate that even white trash mobs can be dangerous, and bosses last long enough to actually experience their mechanics. Loot: I don't actually mind scrimping and scrounging for gear during the campaign, it makes the upgrades you do get more memorable, and the power spikes from same more noticeable, however, it's absolutely crazy how much more loot you get the instant you step into your first map. I'm not exaggerating when I say my first handful of multi-minute map clears gave me more loot and currency than the previous multi-hours of campaign maps. Especially the currency, getting a single regal in campaign was a tedious matter of hauling rares back to base, in atlas, a few maps was enough to max out affixes on all my gear. I feel like boosting drops a bit in campaign would smooth out the difficulty and speed of progression without turning it into a faceroll. Adding some guaranteed loot explosions to first time boss clears would also feel good, especially act bosses. Nitpicks: Get rid of the hidden speed penalty for body armor. Why is this still around? Put movement speed as an implicit on boots. Every single pair of boots without ms being a brick is silly, even moreso in light of the change you're making to belt charm implicits. Same issue! If it's good for the goose... Last bumped on Apr 10, 2025, 1:48:52 PM
