Newely added Cull the weak.
I like the spell its a nice way to gather frenzies but it has an issue, If you are scaling say projectile damage for spears your damage for Cull the weak doesn't scale and becomes unusable. If you think about it this is even worse for range because you are unlikely to be in range to parry and generate charges that way so you are sorta out of luck with how to generate F charges.
I would suggest adding the projectile tag to cull the weak or creating a sister skill that does the same thing but with a projectile in order to allow range builds to still get the benefits. Thanks Last bumped on Apr 9, 2025, 2:53:28 PM

There are other ways to generate frenzy charges, like with the spirit skill that does that. If people are using cull the weak, they're already scaling melee spear. I don't think you need to add yet another skill solely for ranged because of the spirit skill I mentioned.

I don't think it works well as a main damage source, but it has its place. I'm using it just to generate frenzy charges for Glacial Lance and Barrage, and it works well enough in that capacity. It's not my main attack, and since I'm using it mostly to cull and gain charges, the damage scaling isn't really the point for me. It could be just one damage and I'd still be using it the same.
I do think that a very basic, no-frills, "I charge and stab you to death" attack does seem very on-brand for an Amazon, too. | |
I don't think the point of the skill is to scale its damage. And if you wanna do that then that's a build on its own.
I love the skill! It's snappy (no lame +attack time or 50% attack speed), it hits in an area, it's effective, it does its job. I throw a spear then finish off anything left with it if there's anything left. It's dynamic, it has a use case, it is a great skill. |
