Corrupted Nexus quest not completing with higher map tier

I'm on corrupted nexus tier 2+. Keyword is the plus on there. I thought id be able to get the passive points putting in a T3 map and was not rewarded with the 2 passive points. That feels pretty bad to be honest. It's compounded now because with the drop changes, I'm not getting T2 waystones anymore. So now I have to find another nexus, save that T2 rare I have left, and clear that map.

Shouldn't be much of a problem for me, but there may be other players who basically get frozen on progressing their atlas unless they trade a T2 map? Idk it just feels bad in general to play a higher tier waystone and not get credit because it wasn't the exact tier needed even though the "plus" indicates you could use a higher tier.
