Amazon "Critical Strike" ascendancy not granting any crit
I swear I was going crazy with my listed crit rate as nearly 95% but when I applied my mark to a boss it took nearly ten hits to hit it off of him, so I did some testing.
My melee left click had 95% crit rate, no accuracy distance complications. I hit a tier 5 (much below my tier, no accuracy penalty) boss 50 times with the right click and managed to crit 10 out of the 50 times, for a crit rate of 20%. Considering my base crit rate without the ascendancy is 15%, this definitely seems to point to the belief that the character screen is lying and the ascendancy point is actually multiplicative. so from my understanding is the crit rate is base but your accuracy needs to be over capped to be able to utilize this. That is the simple version.
So for mobs its quite easy to clear and it is evident when i do maps click one button and 90% of the mobs die fighting rares take a bit more time and so do bosses. The reason is because rares and bosses have higher evasion so your 130% (my hit chance) hit chance is actually less on a rare or boss hence when fighting them your crit gets scaled down. In short bosses usually have higher evasion which equals to you having less hit chance which means your over capped hit chance is actually less on a boss hence crit rate dropping I hope that makes sense |
