Huntress Class - My Two Cents
As of now, I have cleared Act 2 with Huntress class. Here is how I feel about the game play for this class.
First, playing in Dawn of the Hunt means I am starting from scratch. I have no leveling unique or rare items that I can use to boost my DPS. So I have to accept that fact. I will have to play with whatever I can farm along the way. This will make one feel less powered because everybody got used to leveling additional characters in 0.1 using some gear from earlier characters. Let's just accept the fact that you are starting from scratch and DPS is going to suck at earlier levels. The Frenzy point mechanics with Buckler and Disengage is not intuitive and playable. With so much density of monsters attacking and chasing you, all I can think of is kill them instead o trying to figure out parry and frenzy. Its just my personal view on this mechanic. I don't even bother using buckler anymore. I am fine with a shield with good stats in off-hand. This Frenzy mechanics need to re-design or remove it and increase baseline damage of other skills. Class' DPS and play style becomes smooth after L25. I did not have any trouble clearing big groups with Twisters and Lightening Spear. At some point I included Rake into the rotation and that provided a good boost. Mix it with Herald of Blood. After you reach on the outer rim of passive skill tree, DPS boost is reasonable. Rares with "Revive Minions" seems a little challenge with nerf to DPS. You are just surrounded by minions at all time you kill the rare itself. I am not sure how "Regenerate Health" modifier will play out. A slight DPS bump to Huntress skills baseline damage can go a long way to address some of the early level issues. Now I have access to Tame Beast, I have to see how this plays out. Overall, the class is not as bad as it looked in initial levels. Have to see how it performs in Cruel mode. These are just my personal views.. Let's not flame it up :-) Last bumped on Apr 6, 2025, 11:11:20 AM
