Aiming with Spells (Contagion / Essence Drain)

Hi, i have a serious issue with contagion and essence drain.

Everytime i aim to a monster both the spells seem to land on the wrong one in the pack.

It's just infuriating not been able to build up the combo.

Hey there, I was also trying to post something about this as well. Essence Drain especially as it is a "wavy projectile" the aim seems to be OFF...

Here is a screen of what I mean, the red dot is where my mouse was pointed at...

Something really off with the auto aiming. I hope it is addressed or at least turned into a toggle option. Swapped to a merc after trying ed/contagion and having the same issue. I freeze a target and it will prioritize something else in a pack, so you can't easily explode your freeze. Contagion was going where ever it wanted in big packs. Unleash on contagion and chain on ED helped a little, so you don't have to worry too much about hitting 1 target. Hope that helps a bit while we wait for an answer!
I also found a Discussioon back in Dec 2024 about this same issue:

Aiming
Loving the game, been playing with a monk but decided to try mercenary. It was an issue with monk a bit but very noticeable now with a crossbow.

When you shoot straight up or down the bolt goes where you aim, but when you aim horizontally left or right, the shot goes 5 or 10 degrees above where you click.

You can aim at monsters above you directly but ones to your side you almost have to aim just below their feet unless they are very close.

It feels weird because it's slightly more or less off depending how much more vertical or horizontal your shot is.

Is there a settings fix for this I've missed?

I found when playing on the steam deck the targeting is much better. M&K always seems to veer off of where I have the pointer.
Maybe using a controller will be a work around.
