This game ruined gaming for me...

... because it is just too damn good

I don’t think I can go back to other game after playing Path of Exile 1/2. It’s just too good. The depth, the complexity, the skill expression—nothing else even comes close. Every other game I try now just feels shallow, like wading in a puddle when I’ve already swum in the ocean.

The last game I really enjoyed outside of PoE2 was Monster Hunter Wilds, and even that only lasted me around 120 hours before I ran out of things to do. It was fun while it lasted, but that’s the key phrase: “while it lasted.” Most other games just don’t have the staying power of PoE2.

Even other ARPGs feel empty now. I’ve tried going back to them, but they’re just too simple. PoE2 has so much depth that other games feel like they’re missing half their mechanics. Once you’ve experienced this level of build freedom and challenge, it’s hard to settle for anything less.

The only two things I missing in PoE 2:

- More interesting ways to acquire loot (which getting fixed to some extent with 0.2 patch)
- Mini game/events/PvP or something that can keep me engaged when the league is close to ending. We should be able to delve/compete or have game modes to keep engagement going between leagues. Some rogue-like activity when you start from 0 and get random stuff/buffs with a system related to delve (with HC mode/SSF/Group). Boss rush mechanics even when you fight each boss in the game with sanctum rooms in between - something that can give you a smaller fresh start besides a "big" fresh start between leagues. Maybe bring back battle royale in PoE 2? This suggestion of course does not mean "right now" but something to work with after release.

Stay sane

Would love to see some kind of PVP....1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 Arenas f.e. or even some "capture the flag" modes.

But this could only work with 2 changes or better said "additions":

1. Allowing a own PVP gear, skill & passive set that switches automaticaly as soon as we enter the PVP Area....Because PVP gear & skills always differ from PVE gear in terms of usefullnes and having to respec the character every time would be very annoying.

2. Normalized stats in PVP Area.....Means as soon as you enter the PVP Area the player damage is tuned down by up to 80% (Here it needs some testing to find the right number)

Normalizing stats simply prevents that PvP fights will end up in an 1-hit fiesta and create thrilling and exciting PVP fights this way with a duration of at least 1-2 minutes.

The only downside here is that it requires more work from GGGs side because they have to balance skills separately for PvE and PvP.....But the good thing is that with "normalizing stats" this wouldn't be such a huge task becasue that way they can easily determine what skill excels and which one are on the weaker side.

The conclusion: A good PvP mode could be possible but it depends on GGG whether they want to do the extra work to implement a PvP Area and balance all skills around PvP separately.

Lost Ark PvP arena maybe "hint" - is what keeps the game alive kinda

Reworking skills for PvP may actually give more insight into them to be honest

PvP, if added as a special mode/event/battle royale, should never be balanced. Ever. Add the mode and leave the gear and skill as they are. For the love of God , do not ever try to balance it.

Hell no, a good PvP mode with a constant playerbase needs at least the normalization of stats and a bit of a work.... like a propper balance f.e.

Diablo 3 and POE 1 are the best examples what happens if an ARPG implements a PvP mode without tuning down the player damage and balance certain skills in PVP only.....the mode becomes a 1-hit fiesta vs builds who kill you even before you can see the enemy and is prety much a dead mode after a very short time.

Either implement it propperly or leave it...there's no point to implement something "half-hearted" and spend developement time + valuable ressources into a mode that noone will play after 1-2 weeks becasue there's no balance and the gameplay just about who'll press the attack button faster from offscreen to 1-tap the enemy. ;)

I enjoy pvp not being balanced and trying to balance it might poison the game (imo)

I dont talk about strict "tournament level balance" here but just as much that people don't play the exact same skill (because it's the strongest offscreen skill) and that PvP doesen't turn into an 1-hit fiesta where player skill don't matter.

Or do you play and enjoy PVP in POE1 and Diablo 3, where this is the case?....if yes please send me a stream where you do so for the next months and having fun in an unbalanced PvP mode...I will even give u a subscribe every month if you have fun doing so. ;)

How many hours are you into POE2? And what level character?

I felt like POE2 was the best game ever in the early acts, but past level 90 I hated it. I think I have like 380 hours into the game.

I play PoE all the time so... how many hours and what level? = yes xD

About game being "bad" is an issue with what I pointed out, in SSF it was really painful to get upgrades on your own above 90 level. Recombs saved crafting as they will be giga strong.

About the same (lol due to Steam 381 hours XD....Plus around 20 hours on the standalone client at release).

Yes Act 1-3 Normal for the first time was the best time I've ever had in my almost 3 decades as a gamer.

In endgame I've also hated it simply becasue the game became to trivial way to fast...With around 6 Divnies investment I've 1-tap facerolled prety much all content and this rly shouldn't be the case.

I'm fine if godly player can do so with 2-3000 Div investment but not me as a more or less avarage player with less than 10 Divs investment. ^^

But you will be pleased to hear that with 0.2.0 things will change in the right direction and that they'll nerf most of the build drasticaly....they're amaing for 500k DPS on endgame chars, so fights (esp bossfights) take longer than just 1-2 seconds.

The want bossfights to be around 2 minutes long and they've said that the'll balance the game around this vision. :)
