With the new "Dawn of the Hunt" update and the new ascendency class, I need to make new characters?

As title said. I am playing as the witch from the start because I liked its mechanics and such, but then I didn't really like the two ascendencies that the game had so I had to settle with the fire one, because it was the one I liked the most out of the two. And now that I see this new "Lich" ascendecy class that looks dope as fuck, do I have to make a new witch character, beat the game twice again to get to the endgame to enjoy this new ascendency class? Is there not a single way for me to change the ascendency class to the new one? It took me three months to reach to the endgame with my main character (because of time issues), I don't want to spend another three months to get another character to endgame just to test the new ascendency class :/

3 months to beat the campaign... yeah... ok.

3 months to complete it twice to unlock the endgame.

And yes, not everyone has the same amount of time to play as everyone else.

Depends on if they reset ascendancies/tree. We'll find out next week.

They will add ascendancy changes in the future, I'm sure of it.
But honestly, if you needed 3 months to clear the campaign (not sure how deep into the endgame you came) I would highly advice you to not play a league when they will be released.


If you are uncertain about the lich ascendancy and you have timely restrictions may I suggest that you check out some guides if its worth the investment.

Ghazzy is a long time necro player, I'm certain he will try out the new ascendancy, so you can see for yourself if you want to play it.

Yes, some people have jobs and responsibilities.

I also have a job and responsibilities, it still leaves me with more than a couple of hours per week to enjoy a hobby.
I'm not denying that there do exist people who have no free time, but they certainly don't choose to play video games and/or spend their time on a website forums.

Was a game that requires lots of grinding the best choice for your limited time?

Yes when I first started gaming online in the 90's I didn't have much free time. Now I'm retired and sometimes forget what that's like.

Anyway... unless they announce something different between now and the 4th I would suspect you'll be making another character.

Personally going to be making 3 new characters on the 4th... I want to try the new Ascendency class for Witch and both for the Huntress class. Just the same as I made multiples of various other classes to have access to both ascendency classes.
