Zero download speed of the update via the official launcher. SECOND day in a row
This is not the first time I have encountered this problem. About a month ago, the same file did not want to download. I suspect it has something to do with the Thai version of the client. But! I do not play in Thai.
![]() The entire update is downloaded normally. But when the moment of the last 1-2% comes, the speed drops to 0, with rare "shudders" to 15-30 kb / sec. I saw a topic with the same problem on reddit from November 21, 2024. I also personally encountered this error somewhere in January-February. Now I have not played for about a couple of months and decided to update the game so that I would not have to download a lot of updates later. And I encountered this error again. Why does the OFFICIAL launcher not want to download the update? What's going on with the official server for downloading updates? Why is it in such a state that it's been a SECOND day since I can't download an update? Last bumped on Mar 22, 2025, 4:22:53 PM

No issues here, it could be on your end. Try with a wired connection or try without a VPN.

" So 300 megabytes downloaded without problems, but for the last 500kb I need to turn on VPN because "the problems are on my end"? This reminds me of the responses from technical support of an Internet provider or publishers of other games, when some nonsense happens and they blame the player for everything, and then, suddenly, it turns out that the problem is, after all, on their end. This is the second time in a few months that I've gotten an error with this same file. The problem is probably on the server side distributing the update. |

If you're having problems, but nobody else is having those same problems, then the issue has to be at your end. It might be a customer service issue, but it's not GGG's customer service issue. Possibly with your service provider, possibly with some other link in the chain between GGG and you, but it's clearly not something that GGG have any control over, or anything they can fix, so blaming GGG anyway is unlikely to be productive.
Since you're using the standalone client, have you tried using the Steam client instead? It shouldn't be different, but sometimes simply trying different things, rather than just repeatedly doing the same thing, can "knock something loose," so to speak. On a similar note, have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the standalone client? Again, it shouldn't matter, but sometimes it does. I've uninstalled and reinstalled games before, including Path of Exile (more than once), and had that process "fix" my problem. It could be that some critical part of your game installation has become corrupted somehow, and that the update isn't addressing it. Does it make sense? Not even slightly. But sometimes it works, anyway. Maybe give it a try. Good luck! Stay sane, exiles!

" This is just nonsense. You should stop giving advice. Plenty of things can happen that affect a small % of users. The problem with people like this is that issues often take months or years to get resolved because of this mentality that "if it isn't happening to a large % of players then it must be their fault." Absolutely terrible. |

I have this problem every few years in PoE1.
I am not trolling, but have you tried to restart your PC? When my update got stuck at the last %, the issue disappeared after I turned my PC off and on. Ah, and start the ".exe" as admin. [Removed by Support] Last edited by JakkerONAIR#4902 on Mar 22, 2025, 1:54:55 PM

" Some issues, yes. It can happen that some players have a very specific hardware or software configuration that interacts weirdly with the game code in a way that be hard to diagnose since it happens so rarely. It's also possible that doing some basic trouble-shooting by user can resolve an issue. There's a reason why rebooting your PC is a standard trouble-shooting step: it's because it can work. If you've tried rebooting, and you've tried reinstalling, and you've tried the other available game client, and you're still having the issue, then you can at least cross those off the list. If you haven't done those things, then it is still worth doing those things. If they help, then you're golden! If not, then you can add that information to your service ticket, so that the people at the other end who are trying to trouble shoot the issue know that you've already tested, and eliminated, the obvious. It's not about blaming the user, it's about trying what you can try at your own end to resolve the issue, in a way that also narrows down the list of possible causes. Help them to help you. Or don't, and let your (extremely rare, and thus likely low-priority) issue prevent you from playing the game entirely for an undetermined period of time. That is also an option, of course. Only you can decide which makes more sense for you. Good luck! Stay sane, exiles!

" That's some bad luck, for sure. I have another question for you, though: why didn't you post about your console-specific problem in a console feedback forum? There are three of those: one general feedback forum for console, and a one bug report forum for each console. Also: which console? PS5, Xbox Series X, or XBox Series S? Are other users of your specific console also having the issue? How much storage space does your console have? How much of that space is being taken up by other games you also have installed?
