Spec
MB : ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4
OS : Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (24H2)
CPU : Core™ i7-12700K
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
RAM : 32 GB (DDR4)
Setup : Dual screen main 4k 240 hz with gsync + secondary 120 hz without gsync (Played on the main)
Platform : Steam

Play the game at 4k everything pretty much set to lowest possible get around 150 FPS in ho I have been playing this game for a little bit more than 6000 hours have never ever have crashes like these before

its begun after I got back to play Phrecia events before that I had used the same system to play through Settler launch and had played quite a while(having 10 mirrors+ char) just fine and also continue playing through Poe2 EA just fine. Then after got back to poe1 these crashes happen all of the sudden It keep happening every 1-2.5 hours or so with the exact same error above.

I am not sure it happened at the beginning of event or not since I didnt play that much at the start but this last week it happened everyday I have been farming Legions i dont even know its relevant or not.

Exact symptom: it pretty much happened randomly out of nowhere running through maps, looting, price check etc.. the game will be frozen (only the game pc is running fine) can last about 3-10 seconds the game then terminate itself leave the exact same dll error above everytime

I have been trying pretty much everything
- reinstall game /verify integrity
- reinstall windows couple of times (restore 10+ times)
- lowering performance core ratio (mine isnt even 13/14 gen)
- update everything drivers/bios etc.
- mess with settings vulcan dx12/gsync on-off/ adaptive sync on-off/ low sound channel .......
- single monitor setup
- platform to standalone
- change mtx

Things that I have read through but havent try yet (but tbh I dont wanna try anymore)
- Shader cache to unlimited
- use older windows update (a lot of people say 24h2 has a lot of problem)
nope!! rerolled 23h2 still crash. next 22h2 or windows 10?? lol I have
already given up here
- complete removed mtx

Anyone pls help this is the first time that I am pretty much gived up fixing pc related problem I have never found a death end like this I wanna play the game so much......

Yeah I did try rerolled 23h2 and still crash. I have already given up here. Can I have your pc spec?
I've been having the same issues. My game crashes, 99% of the time, before I can get to the character select screen. The other 1 percent of the time I was able to login and select a character but it would crash before I could load in. I did have a single instance where I was able to play for about 30 minutes before it crashed again but my spirits are down and testing it more is just depressing. I love the game. It's basically all I play when I have the time to play anything. Would really appreciate GGG if they would fix this before the upcoming updates.

Anyway here's all the logs I was able to find while looking around.

My system specs:
Windows 11 Pro: Version 23H2
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF 3.20 GHz
RAM: 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II
GPU: GIGABYTE AUROS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11G
C Drive (OS location): Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB
E Drive (PoE 2 install location)L Samsung SSD 860 QVO 4TB

While looking around I found some forum that said to go into task manager, find the PathOfExileSteam.exe, and set affinity, then remove CPU cores 0 and 1. I did this and the result I got was the only time I managed to make it past the character select I mentioned in the start where I was able to play for about half an hour. Problem is that most of the time the game crashes before I am able to alter the affinity and I'm just tired of it now. If there is a way to permanently alter the affinity it might help but I'm not certain. I did test it a few more times before posting this and had no luck. Didn't even make it to the login screen.

Other threads I found people had success when underclocking their CPUs and that's when I remembered I had downloaded Armory Crate. I upgraded all but my GPU late 2024 and this week I'm going to be getting a 4060 Ti but that's besides the point. When I upgraded, I eventually got around to downloading and installing Armory Crate. I saw it had an AI overclocking for your CPU and I knew I wanted to try OC and thought it would be fine until I get a new GPU and actually have a reason to overclock but since I'm likely not going to get a 50 series card in my hands anytime soon I doubt I'll get to it.

Armory Crate(AC) originally had this dashboard that showed the clock speed with it's own graphic and I enabled it in January I think, then promptly forgot about it. Now after seeing some people are using the AI OC are having this same problem I go back to find AC and disable the OC but I can only do that in the BIOS. I did go into the BIOS and turned what I thought was the OC off but I'm honestly not sure because AC has since changed their UI? The same overclocking screen is gone? I have no idea what's going on. I can't find any mention of AI OC in the AC app anymore.

I've seen some people have had luck reverting to an older version of Windows but some haven't. I'm going to try to update my BIOS and I'll try to report back here if I am able to fix it. I wish everyone luck and pray GGG gets around to it.
Updated BIOS, finally able to get to the login screen and actually login to a character. My BIOS version was 1501 and I updated to 1801. I haven't had the time to play and really test it out but as soon as I do I'll report more info here. Hope you're able to do the same!
