What the hell GGG? - 1 Limit Divergence Hideout Decorations?

Why am I only able to place ONE divergence hideout decoration down? For example, divergence environmental effect (floor) and divergence building supplies can only be placed ONCE unless I buy more? That's pretty unfair in my opinion, we should be able to use them multiple times just like we can with the stock hideout decorations.
I was hoping I could create a whole theme in my hideout, making a divergence wall around the entire place but it turns out we can only use one. Can you please make it so we're able to use them multiple times like we can with stock hideout decorations? We're already paying top dollar for every other cosmetic, give us a little to work with here...

I'm stuck with this until I can buy more... come on... Look how many pillars and plants I can place in my hideout, it should be the same for building "SUPPLIES" as stated, not SUPPLY.

While I've got a load of complaints about GGG's method of MTX, this is at the top of the list. Hideout decorations are 1 object per purchase. I once did the math to figure out about how many walls I'd have to buy to make use of one of the more open hideouts, and the cost was in the thousands. I stopped buying any of the environmental effects unless I just needed one for a nice centerpiece.

This is absolutely insane!!! Nobody should have to spend anywhere near that much money on hideout decorations. To top it off, there is literally no disclaimer stating that hideout decorations are a one time use cosmetic. Not only that, but the videos show multiple decorations being used at the very start!

I currently use 105 pillars to make a large wall around my hideout. Let's say I wanted to use single pillar divergence decorations to surround my hideout - at 60 points each, that comes to a total of 6,300 points for 105 walls. A grand total of $630 USD! ARE YOU KIDDING ME OR WHAT?!

This makes me never want to purchase hideout decorations ever again and this is coming from someone who's a big spender on cosmetics. No thanks!

I am assuming there is no update to this? I bought this before seeing this post for the same reason. I assumed that I was about to use this effect all over my hideout, but I only got to put a little patch on the floor.

Ask for a refund. This is a clear cut case of bullshit and misleading marketing.

But it’s not misleading marketing, the description clearly states what the product is and how it works. Calling it “misleading” is actually the misleading part. It pretty much tells you it’s a single decoration, it adds a decoration to your hideout and lets you reclaim and reuse that one. And that’s exactly how they work in-game, just as described and advertised.

Adds a Divergence Environmental Effect decoration to your personal Hideout.
Hideout Decorations can be placed in your personal Hideout and can be reclaimed and used again for free.

If the description instead said something like “Unlocks the Divergence Environmental Effect decoration to your personal Hideout,” that would be misleading marketing, because it implies you’re getting unlimited use or multiple copies, which isn’t the case.

It’s no different from real life, you’re expected to read the fine print before you buy something just because it looks cool. If someone with a peanut allergy grabs a peanut-free product without checking the label and then ends up shocked when they get blindsided by a “may contain traces” warning, that’s not the manufacturer tricking them, that’s them not reading the details. Or another example, buying a cheaper CPU because its model number and name look almost identical to the stronger, better-performing brother, thinking it’s just as good and a steal due to the significantly lower price, only to realize later that weaker specs and fewer cores mean it doesn’t perform anywhere near the bigger brother. All of that information is clearly listed in the specs.

Sure, GGG could make it even clearer and add a little warning at checkout for people who skim past the text and just buy things, but the information is already right there for anyone.

You're right. I guess I was just too excited about editing my hideout. It does say, "Adds a Divergence Environmental Effect decoration to your personal Hideout."

I'll make sure I take a second to reread the description for future purchases.

Thank you for the responses!

Honestly, that's perhaps your worst take so far. "Read the fine print". 🤣🤣🤣

Edit:

Wanna know why that statement is complete bullshit? Here:

One of these applies only once. The other applies to both weapons. Your excuse for that is "read the fine print"? Yeah, the fine print has the same wording for both. 🤣🤣🤣

Why do you keep spreading misinformation?

Oh, and before you tell me "But It Doesn'T Say tHAt in THE ShoP WHEn yoU buY STufF":

Except it's inconsistent. So much for "not misleading marketing".

So why are we suddenly talking about weapon skins in a discussion that’s supposed to be about hideout MTX? Are we pivoting because the original point didn’t hold up, or what exactly is going on here? But sure, I’ll play along with the bait.

Looking at your screenshot, you used the new Halloween skin as an example, and yes, other weapon MTX do apply to both weapon slots, as you’ve also shown. If you stopped to think hard for even a second, you’d probably realize that since it’s a new MTX, it’s very likely just an oversight that this one doesn’t apply to both equipped weapons.

But even if it isn’t an oversight, the text still does exactly what it claims. Can you equip it on any one-handed axe? Yes. Any mace or scepter? Also yes. So in that regard, nothing about the wording is misleading, it accurately states that it can be applied to all three weapon types. It would only be misleading if, for example, it said you could use it on scepters but you actually couldn’t.

So honestly, I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make here.
But hey, you’re welcome for the clarification.

🤣🤣🤣

It's "new", so it's probably "just an oversight". Yeap. That's why we have MTX from 2013 that have the same wording and either apply to both or only one, and MTX from this year and every year before it that behave exactly the same.

Wanna know the best part? They never clarify which skins work for either or both.

Oh, and would you look at that:

Purple Weapon Effect video

Reddit thread about it not working: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/6cy3c8/whats_wrong_with_some_weapon_effects_why_it/

Bex_GGG's clarification in said thread:

"
In cases where it's not easy to get two weapon effects, like with supporter packs, those weapon effects automatically apply to both weapons if you're dual-wielding. The Purple Weapon Effect doesn't currently work this way, but it will in a future patch.

Which is really interesting, as it's not a Supporter Pack effect (you can buy it right now) and even the release video shows no dual wielding. I cannot comfirm whether it works that way now, as I don't own it, but that's not the point.

The Breach one from a few years prior does: https://youtu.be/SBQPH3g4i3g?si=sZDn7iysnfo1OZO4&t=11

The consistency sure is... interesting.

But thanks for the clarification! 😁👌
