Co-op Dynamic Split Screen Or zoom out.
Hey Everyone,
Game is good playing with the missus(4k tv with computer connected and controllers). However one major glaring annoyance is how often we end up not having enough room to properly avoid mechanics because we would be locked to the screen edge of one or the other person going the opposite direction. This is incredibly annoying so many deaths just because we couldn't avoid mechanics properly. This could be fixed by one of two design decisions as this is more or less has been a solved design problem. Solution 1: Allow a level of zoom out to at least the borders of the general playfield (eg. the area of the boss.) Not Ideal but would work. Solution 2: Dynamic splitscreen with ability to lock to split or auto merge. See the game Divinity: Original Sin 2 ; They have a couch coop where you can separate in real time it automatically splits the screen when too far and merges when the too players are in the same space. Now this may be a little bit more difficult to make and master so even just a gameplay setting toggle that allows for forced splitscreen for those who want / need since This way of doing couch coop is superior. This is particularly necessary to maintain the feel of the game with the closer and more personal view we have going. Solution 2 will allow for maintaining all design decisions and alleviate gameplay frustration. Hopefully this feedback is read and taken onboard. Last bumped on Feb 8, 2025, 4:06:23 AM
