Greater Essences vs Socketed Magic Items.

I couldn't use Greater essence on my two modded magic item, the reason being it had both of its sockets already filled with runes. It makes no sense not being able to use Greater Essence to upgrade that item, since sockets don't have any interaction with it. Would it be possible to remove runes/cores from sockets or make it possible to use Greater Essences on those items?

Yes, please remove that restriction. It does not tell the player anywhere that you can not use it on socketed items and it is really frustrating.

What? Why you can't use an essence? Why would runes interact with it in any way?

Nobody knows why this is happening. All i know is that i farmed for a greater essence for weeks only to find out that is does not work with runes socketed.
