XP loss on map failure

The xp penalty is absolutely demoralising. I'm at level 94 and need to push T16 maps otherwise my progress is too slow. You have to do at least 100 tier 15 maps to get to level 95 but would only need around 50 T16 maps. Losing 10% xp if you die is a joke on a map that is giving you 1-2% if you complete it. I like POE2 but this one feature of the game is sooo annoying. Why do we have to lose 5-10 times more xp than we would gain by successfully completing the map? It is a big slap in the face for people who have invested 100's of hours in the game. GGG please change this. Losing the xp for that map is fair but not losing the xp for the previous 5-10 maps. At level 99 it will be far worse, one death is probably at least 100 hours lost!! Is the time of your gamers of so little value? If it does not change, I for one will be switching back to Diablo 4 - (not as good a game but at least I feel my time grinding in the end game is allowing me to make meaningful progress.)

Why are you trying to reach level 100 ?
I got to 98 and a 97 not bothering with t16. Didn't take that long. Also if you build isn't tabky buy the omen that reduces xpnloss to 2.5%

Point taken and the omen is expensive but not beyond the means of a level 94 player. But it was beyond my means earlier in the game.

I have seen so many people with this messed up "logic".
(Or lack of any logic if I should be precise.)

People doing T15, taking 20 minutes (no joke!) per map.
Inadequate equipment, mob density and builds.

The hell are you doing in T15 map?
I mean, sit your ass on T12 or something, until you have something goin on, instead of doing 6 maps per day...

Holy shit.

The same goes for T16-18.
Can you actually run 6-10 T15 maps per hour or no?

It it the map itself that matters most, not the tier...
I mean, if you can close high-density 79 area in 6-10 minutes, you are fine.

But can you actually do it?
XP loss is not disrespecting players time, it's part of the game's core philosophy.

Examples of disrespecting players time would be:

Game crashing
Atlas dead-ends
4th ascendancy being tied behind too much RNG
Unbalanced defenses/ skills causing certain builds to be overly inferior at late endgame

All of which are fixable and part of early access troubles. XP loss is a ideological issue which is far less likely to be addressed, at least without a severe knock to experience gain generally which penalises those who do work within the game's parameters to reach high level

* As for diablo 4, the equivalent would be reaching paragon 300, the real grind is hidden by no longer calling them "levels"

Yes. This ^.

Speed run T15 with this omen, and you are pretty much guaranteed to level up fast.
