Chance Orbs and Item levels

Do the item level affect the chance to get a rare unique in any way?

if i want astramentis by chancing onyx amulet, could i get it with a lvl 30 onyx amulet or it should be a lvl 6X one? or will give more chances to get it?

no one has any idea about this? is it that hard question?! :/

As long as the ilvl the same or higher than the required level for the unique, it can be chanced. Having it higher level doesn't increase your odds, no.

If it is below, I do not know. So far we've not received a dev response regarding that, as far as I'm aware.

I think it does not matter at all. I've got this lvl 16 amulet from normal Brutus once and it is ilvl 12

So if you can have ilvl < req lvl unique, should it matter in case of chance orbs? I think not, it would be stupid design.

Given the two posts above you, you have your answer.

You can chance a unique with ilvl < reqlvl, and there are no dev quotes on if there is a minimum ilvl for any uniques (read: we don't know).
