Do top ladder players all boost and RMT ?
When will you publicly put an end to this GGG?
Some "players" are not only breaking TOS, but now very publicly accusing all top players of doing the same. Is that true ? Or is it ok to let someone put the integrity of your game in question because they are oh so important? I know this post will be insta-wiped, but whatever. Last bumped on Jan 20, 2025, 9:59:48 AM

no they dont.
there have been occasions when people have account shared to boost themselves on ladders in poe1 and they were banned because its fairly easy to see if someones logged in playing more hours than one person can actually stay awake and play for a prolonged period. note thats different to 1 expert player playing an account to get characters to a place on a ladder by themselves, which is absolutely fine, but then allowing someone else to log into the account and play it for an hour here and there. thats obviously very different. no doubt against tos and a bannable offence, but its only 1 person actually grinding any significant time on the account so its not getting a ladder advantage over any other single person grinding and the time /played on the account will be pretty much all just from 1 player, so you couldnt tell from just looking at that. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" Agreed. Sure if it's occasional it doesn't do much.... except when said "player" has huge public visibility and starts broadcasting that they do that because EVERYBODY ELSE topping the ladder is doing it... GGG have to get in front of that messaging in my opinion and very publicly swing the ban hammer HARD. It has to be made very clear that this kind of practice is unacceptable and dealt with swiftly, otherwise the game (and company) could be perceived as lacking any integrity. |

yeah i hear you, its a very messy situation.
theres some quite unpleasant elements to that where 'someone' points to a group of players from part of the world and says oh, they all cheat in all these ways so everyone else has to cheat to keep up with them. basically playing on bigoted stereotypes to excuse their own behaviour and act like its normal when actually no its very far from normal. which as you say then makes it seem like the game itself is full of cheats and not a fair game. so its slandering an entire continent of people and then slandering the game itself to dodge taking responsibility for being the one person in the equation whos actually the cheat. i dunno, its a really complicated situation. the game must have got so much exposure from this thing which is great for all of us who love the game, its bringing in players and funding. but then when the game is getting unfairly painted in this bad light? mmmmm. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

ofc it's not true. It's a pathetic excuse from a pathetic man with a 40 year track record of nonstop lying.
Almost all of the actual top players actively stream themselves playing the game, so it's them doing the content. Literally all of the actual top players play in SSF modes while competing, specifically because it makes it impossible to cheat via RMT etc. Last edited by ARealLifeCaribbeanPirate#2605 on Jan 20, 2025, 8:47:21 AM

OP, why not just check stats on Trade websites?

It's not that top players do RMT and get boosted ;
It's that boosted players doing RMT end up at the top of the ladder. Which is really different. |
