Lvl 78 just tried trading for the first time today, not one response all day!

I started playing on release, having not ever played PoE2. I played through the campaign then started maps, and am currently finishing T7 quest. Until today I hadn't bothered trying to trade at all. Earlier today I decided to go ahead and look into upgrading my staff, chestpiece and boots after realizing I had quite a bit of currency in 4 Divines and 36 Exhalted after reading about trading in here.

I linked my Xbox account to PoE2 account and started sending offers. Not just a few, but by the end probably 50 if not substantially more. Not one person has gotten back to me! And it shows them online on the website. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere or a bug? It seems wild to me not a single person got back to me, and many were on items put up within ten minutes. Any info would be much appreciated!

OK so one important thing to keep in mind is that the Trade site listings are "infested" with price fixers.

These are those who will list an item at some ridiculously low price in order to try deceive others who might have a similar item to also list theirs at this artificially low price.
This then allows the price fixer to potentially purchase this from the person who was deceived and they then have an item that they can sell at the higher, more realistic price.

So long story short: avoid buying from the listings that are the lowest price, they never going to respond to you.
Rather page down and see where the prices take a sharp turn upwards and that is the actual market price of an item.

There are the occasional listing in error where someone has hurriedly put a 10 Exalt item in the wrong tab and priced it at 1 Exalt, those listings will often disappear once you whisper them and they realise their mistake and price it correctly.

Don't trade, you'll be happier overall with your gameplay experience.

It's a month and a half into the league. The only people still playing and trading now WILL NOT stop what they're doing to sell you an 1ex item they made a month ago.
Set the trade time to, "a day ago" and ignore anything over a week ago if it is below 5ex.
They're also mechanics in the game you CANNOT stop to trade. Like sekema and ultimatum. Pinnacle can be included as losing a portal isn't a good trade for 1ex.
And yes, people are trying to reduce the price of certain items as well so add them to your ignore list.

My budget was 2Div on staff, 1 on chestpiece and I traded my 4th Div for like 144 exalts. My lowest offer on anything was 70 Div if I remember correctly.

Sounds like you're after some very high end gear.
Are these Rares / Yellow items?
Can you find items that are almost as good but might be a lot cheaper and more available?

What I like to do is, scan the trade site and put in all the various specs for the things I want and then try hit up a few sellers and if I don't get a response, I continue to play and every time I end up back at my Hideout, I search again (important because other players might login with loot I want) and try hit up two or three more sellers.

Basically I don't hang around waiting for a response, I spend the minimum time waiting anxiously.
Sometimes if I really need an item, I direct whisper the player and make them a better offer than their listing to see if they are actually playing and most often I get a response like: "Busy in a trial, can you wait 5 min?" or such.

Thanks again I'm going to double check invites are turned on and I'll try to maybe direct message some people with higher offers. I got a 5th Div last night too so I'm willing to offer more. Especially for my weapon. I was using a 276 physical damage staff until level 75 and finally got a better one (315) but at Tiers 7 and 8 so far it doesn't seem to do quite enough damage. My resis are bad though too TBH. That's why I wanted to get a new chest and boots.

I'm going to b continue doing stuff too,I pretty much sat around all day yesterday waiting for trades that never happened.
