I see no reason why? There isn't nothing extremely special about them.

I can see it being valueable in HC but not as much in SC.HC has a linear cost from death where as SC doesn't.So proportionate to other uniques its should be cheaper in SC.

The item itself is really rare, never dropped one myself, even tho i have around 10 stahs tabs full of uniques, including an astramentis, a pair of wake of destruction wich has the same rarity i guess.
For a CI character it s sreally usefull, and, the huge bonus to mana can be very helpfull for any heavy mana builds. I really would like one myself but won t happen soon i m afraid :) Maker of ZeeL's Amplifier.

I wondered about this myself. Basically its because the ring is incredably rare and is best-in-slot for CI.
