D2 players view on the game.

As a Diablo 2 veteran I couldn't help but notice all the similarities in POE2.
- And I love it!
In my eyes this is how I always wanted Diablo 3/4 to be. I love this game and I could talk about everything for hours on end but I am going to focus on the things I want improved instead.
Gameplay is really good so the only thing I would want changed is mainly some items.

1. Unique items
Uniques right now are way too common and 95% of the time they are only worth picking up if you even got the inventory space so you disenchant them for a chance shard (With fully juiced towers with quanity of items, you usually get like 20x in a breach map). I wish they were more rare and actually had some use. They've recently been buffed but most of them are still not really worth using. While mapping it feels like the only uniques you are hoping for is a Headhunter, Astramentis & Dream fragments, Pillar of the caged god, Atziri Disdain and a couple more.



- In D2 there are so many good unique helmet like Shako, Vampire Gaze, Valkyrie Wing, Nightwing's Veil, Andariel's Visage, Crown of Ages. Even the bad once like Tarnhelm has some use. And while having all these really good unique helmets, a rare helmet is usually the best in slot like a diadem with 2 skills, 20 faster cast rate, 30 strength, 60 life & 20 all resistance or druid pelts, visio etc..
I wish they would add more uniques with affixes you cannot get from rares but still making sure that rare once would also be a good option. Like having a belt with cast speed or something. (Ingenuity & Headhunter is really well done, need more like those!)
The unique boots should all have some Increased movement speed and would be nice if there was one like War Travelers with some rarity.



2. Ethereal items
Weapons would deal more damage and armor would get more defence, evasion & ES. But with the downside that you have to make it indestructible by socketing it or maybe corrupting it.



3. Superior items
I really like the 20% quality boost you can give items but it would be really sick if the best in slot items would need to be found as superior version. It would have a little boost like 15% enhanced damage on bows or 15% enhanced defence, evasion or ES on armors. They should be pretty rare and you should still be able to upgrade them by adding 20% quality on them.




Everything else is done super well but I would love to see these changes in the game!

I'm also a big fan of diablo 2 and I hope they take some more stuff into the game!

I've played Diablo 2 for at least 20 years and played pretty much every ladder reset. I've also been deep into PVP and played multiple tournaments. I even made guides about the affixes in the game because I love how the items are in the game.

There are many similarities in both games and especially the items.

I still like Diablo 1 better than D2. It's a shame most the well designed mods try to turn it into D2 instead of just improving what Diablo 1 was because it did quite a few things better.

- Global Magic
- Versatile Classes
- No Magic Find
- No Boss Spam
- Better Itemization

Diablo 2 died for me after the synergy patch where every build became 2 buttons.
