Thats it. I quit PoE2 and go back to Diablo 4 (new Season)

Ok. Just threw away half an hour of my life In the most frustrating game mode ever! Ascendency trials. Man Do I hate this mode. Level 74 witch, trial of sekhemas lvl 66, 3th ascendeny run. first trial done, have all the honour. second trial half way in. Keep alive for 1,5 minute. walking around, avoiding stuff. BAM dead in 1 seconds from some sort of crap damage. This is so frustrating, that I rage quitted, and downloaded Diablo 4. This has nothing to do with being a casual, or make it hard to ascent or something like that. It is bullshit for letting me spend half an hour, and then send me back to the start from an unlucky event. THIS IS NOT FUN (games should be fun)! If I want to grind trials (don't worry i'm not sadomasochistic) I whould be fine with it, but not for ascending my build. Now I'm stuck in my build plans, because I never want to do a trial again this way. So I will be back imediatly if they remove completing trials for ascending, and find something else for it (without stupid traps, timed events, finding exits, etc.). See you (hopefully) in the future, and maybe in Diabl 4's new Season.

" It's surprising to me, that after all this time people still have trouble with sekhema's trial. Get some honor resistance relics, 75% is easy to get. If you actually died in 1 second, I can assume you took the 5% of life, mana and energy shield per hit removed curse. In trial 2 there are the urn enemies who shoot armor piercing shrapnel waves that "follow" you. It's a lot of hits per second that do miniscule damage, but due to the 5% curse you get oneshot, as it only takes 20 hits to kill you. My suggestion is to actually look at what effects you take and simply not take random ones. |

" I mean... they're both video games. if those 4 hours are FUN that's better than this slogfest PoE2 is currently unfortunately GGG is really making a nice job in making any activity outside of this game look more enjoyable |

Fair point, fun is subjective, and if D4's short bursts of content are what you enjoy, more power to you. But PoE will (soon) thrive on depth and long-term progression, which isn't for everyone.
Still, I'd argue that PoE's design philosophy isn't about instant gratification but about the satisfaction of overcoming challenges. It's tough, and sometimes unfair, but that's part of what makes succeeding feel rewarding for some players. Hope you find what you're looking for in whatever game you choose! | |

I stopped playing D4 season 2 when it was clear which direction the game was going and that's when I got into PoE. Funny thing is I've been looking at some D4 content because I'm starting to think PoE2 isn't for me...D4 still looks horrible though so for now it's BG3 and D2R. Both games feel rewarding for the time spent, PoE2 is the opposite
Hope they borrow more ideas from those games they are absolute masterpieces. |

I am looking forward to going back to D4 for 6 weeks. Currently i have 1 of each ascendancy SSF to lvl 70. I have not done 3rd or 4th ascendancy on any of them.
Monk is lvl 80 and what i have been maping on. But if running these maps is all there is to do, then that is proly the end of this league for me. |

" It's about all this but the fundamental philosophy is knowledge... GGG wants their player base to be knowledgeable.. you have to earn that knowledge through dedicated time.. it's not just handed out.. which is what pushes all the scrubs out.. like OP. Instead of trying to learn the mechanics or find some type of guide they just quit... It's as easy as stacking honour resistance and making the right decisions. |

Thanks for the tips and tricks. My point was specifically the trials. I don't like the game mode. I hate it. I don't want to do timed events, and deal with traps. But it is mandatory now for the ascendency's. This is the only issue for me now. I love PoE (2), but this specifically is just not for me :-)
