How can the same character be at the same time dead and alive on the hc leaderboard?

Hey, can someone explain to me how the same character from the same account can be at the same time dead and alive on the poe 2 hc leaderboard?
Eg: Random9#2886 Fatalismftw (dead) rank 116 Random9#2886 Fatalismftw (not dead) rank 865 Last bumped on Jan 20, 2025, 5:14:54 PM

I would assume he died on one, deleted the character then made a new one with the same name

Isn't this supposed to be Elon's account? His [Removed by Support] already 97 on HC ladder? Currently rank 47... I'm confused.
