Astramentis and giant's blood
I think how strong Astramentis is for getting giant's blood is limiting giant's blood from having any other reasonable builds.
You need 212 strength to use the highest level 2 handed mace. This become 636 when you triple it. Soul Core of Cholotl and Soul Core of Zantipi each transfer 127 strength, making you need 382 strength, 127 int, and 127 dex. So, if you have the minimum strength needed for two handed maces, and are playing a warrior, and are willing to use an average of 3 Divine, then Astramentis leaves you needing 70 strength, 20 int, and 20 dex (which is most easily solved by a reduced requirements mod, but can really be anything). All while also solving your mana and accuracy needs, and also allowing you to use whatever support gems you could possibly want. Without Astramentis, you can't use the soul cores and basically need to find a way to produce 400 strength. With the weapon mod and 3 skill nodes you can reduce attribute requirements by 47%, meaning you require 337 strength, which is very achievable, but means you still need to make up 120 strength, and a lot of your options for doing this are already used up. So at the end of the day your choices are 1 neck slot and your weapon sockets plus a lot of other benefits, or 8 skill points plus travel nodes and highly limiting you weapon mods with no other practical benefits. I would like the multiplier for giant's blood to be lower, but to do so, I expect Astramentis is going to need a nerf. Last bumped on Jan 16, 2025, 4:58:28 PM

" Maybe the warrior ascendancy needs a way to boost strength/attributes as it would synergize with giants blood. |

Astramentis won't get a nerf, its literally a copy paste from PoE 1, nor do I think it should.
As a Warrior main, I was able to get giants blood with reduced attribute requirements. Would I like to see the Giants blood passive say, 2 x requirements of strength instead of 3? Absolutely, but in reality we can still get there. Personally I have 541 strength at the moment 58 dex and 58 int. |

" While I am curious how you got 541 strength, my point wasn't that it is unobtainable without Astramentis, my point was that obtaining it without Astramentis has so many opportunity costs that it is normally not worth considering. I know it is a copy from poe1, but the way systems have changed has made it much better in 2. Last edited by loopholist3#6640 on Jan 16, 2025, 5:00:59 PM
