Farming in Fellshrine Ruins

I don't understand all this fuss about Fellshrine Ruins farm...

Why do people like Fellshrine Ruins so much?

I don't think it's that great. That place is huge and very empty.

I prefer The Forest, River Crossings and Western Forest way better.

Also, can you tell me what is the technique to farm in Fellshrine ruins? I already tried sticking to the path, going through the path but also going a bit over the path and even tried going completely offroads. I thought it was a waste of time in all cases!
I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.

before I ever saw others doing it, I ran through it for the xp on normal once when leveling a cyclone witch just trying to get it to work and had two exalted orbs drop from chests in the same instance....so I love it forever now.
it's a good zone because it has resets at either end (entrance from Crossroads, entrance from Church Dungeon) so that makes it super simple to zip through along the road, then reset and zip back.

it is also flush with chests, so those that like testing their luck can zoom around opening them and checking under boulders to hopefully find decent currency (I have found 3 ex in the last 2 weeks there from either mobs, or breakables)

more importantly though pretty much all mobs there are easy to kill without requiring you to stack a form of elemental defense, and they're slow, and avoidable if you ever do locate something that can hurt you.

it's also the zone I used to loot hunt in a lot during CB so holds some nostalgia for me to grind currency in that area.

Skeletons and zombie are slow & stupid. While all monkeys have ranged option. Then gorillas to buff them. Not to mention it's harder to get overwhelmed from mobs in Felshrine.

But farming is always a matter of choice. I myself farm Baracks in act 3 instead of Docks. lightning reflect never bothered me, and the human champs seem to have less life then the skeletons, which means easier farming.
There comes a time thief when jewels cease to sparkle, gold loses it's luster, throne room becomes a prison, and all that's left is a father's love for his child. - King Osric
The way i see it the places to farm while leveling are A1 - Ledge A2 - Fellshrine - A3 - docks or city of sarn
farm barrackers equal stand still with molten shell...profit
I think Fellshrine is fine, but watch out for the occasional named rock golem - certain mods can be quite damaging on these. Best to skip them.

Also, in Merciless, the area level is only 59; one would be better served as to drops in The Cave (area lvl 61) or Dread Thicket ((62) if one has high blocking or Chaos resist) before moving on to act 3 (which opens up some additional drops, like Astral plate).
its best cause u charge forward kill everything on your way, fast reset and come back. Also mobs are slow which is good cause u dont die much. For me fellshrine is best grinding spot on entire POE

I prefer western to fellshrine because enemies are faster and run at you way more, but western is way more dangerous in leveling a character in comparison.

It's because Fellshrine has a road you can follow from end to end, has good mob density, decent drops while leveling, and most of all the enemies are all slow as fuck. Just like Ledge.

If I have tankiness and can deal with poison arrows and 2 shot groups as I'm progressing, Western is way better because it has a guaranteed repeatable boss as well as enemies that all swarm you so if you can survive them, you never have to chase their ass down or stray from the road.

But fellshrine is just easier, safer and more reliable. End of discussion really.
GGG gives me Diablo 2 Teleport? I give them 50 bucks. No questions asked.

Plus, in my opinion, it's just fucking annoying to squint through all the trees to see if there is this one little monkey flinging shit at you, and trying to target him. At least Fellshrine is a more open area.
