Siphon Mana is Dumb AF
|
I'm running a lvl 78 Archmage Spark Stormweaver in PoE 2 and This Rare affix is so incredibly frustrating especially when it also deals lightning damage. There is literally nothing I can do against this if they are faster than me or if they also have proximal tangibility.
Please fix this!!! Last edited by 9Tzeentch9#2467 on Jan 14, 2025, 9:05:38 PM Last bumped on Dec 20, 2025, 10:58:29 AM

It's a doughnut, not a ring.
Inside the ring, you do not get siphon mana'd. So arguably Proximal Tangibility HELPS you against the mana siphon rares. Respectfully, skill issue, git gud. I say respectfully because Tzeentch is the GOAT. Last edited by Kaboinglefop#0955 on Jan 14, 2025, 9:01:23 PM

I'm waiting for new models but for now the new Khorne berzerkers look really sick.
I didn't know it was a ring. I'll try it but I don't do well in close combat. I have Chaos Innoculation which gives me 1hp and Mind Over Matter which makes my mana my health pool. I'm working with nearly 2500 mana but it just drains so fast. |

It wasn't a good design in PoE1 either. Mostly because enemies would spawn with it on and you'd end up right on the ring and die instantly due to it being a degen.
It was esp gross in Heist with all the small rooms and corridors. Sure some builds deal with it fine just like all the ranting about new Ritual which some builds could also do fine. Global Affixes like that need to have an answer for all classes. Sadly my only answer to that Affix with the build I was using was 50mil DPS but like I said random spawn = dead. There are too many monster affix combinations that make a lot of builds completely useless against them.

Admittedly, Mana Siphon is a very Tzeentch ability. I wonder if I'm the first to say that Balakh (tornado vulture boss in Ultimatum) is more or less a Lord of Change... or maybe just a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch.
Anyway, Mana Siphon is obnoxious enough on its own - especially if you're a melee class fored to walk or roll across the donut ring, losing a huge chunk of your mana in the process. It becomes a complete pain in the tuchus if the rare is twinned, or if it also teleports. In these cases, you simply can't avoid the rare(s) dropping mana siphon rings on top of you and nuking your mana pool while also damaging you in the process. |

yea this ability is annoying on mobs, they seem to just zap you. With the vaal temple layouts and the molten guy in the middle of that anvil you have no where to go.
