Poison + Fire in Co-op feels horrible.

I play a pathfinder build that relies on gas arrow for my clear and I have several friends who play builds with flame wall or arsonists or other fire based abilities.

I've specced into poison damage and extra poison stacks and such and my clear speed is pretty good with this build when I'm solo.

However, playing with characters in co-op that ignite my poison clouds just feels terrible, especially since the nerf to poison explosions.

This really harms my contribution to the group in co-op and I believe it lowers my ability to do damage with my gas arrow, which is the entire reason I built my character this way.

On bosses Poisonous Concoction isn't affected of course on bosses but it isn't nearly as good for clear as gas arrow.

Even though, yes, the explosions do a fair amount of damage, it's far worse than my gas clouds because I have to keep shooting my gas arrow over and over and it drains mana fast, especially with my gas arrow at level 27.


I'd like some way to disable the explosions from my gas clouds, perhaps through a support gem. Although there is precedent with the magnetic salvo to make it so my teammates can't blow up my poison, although that would limit people intentionally building for this interaction.

It's really frustrating to have a build that is LESS effective in co-op and basically means either they can't use fire or i have to play another character.

I think this is a fundamental flaw in how the poison/fire interaction works especially with the nerf. I'd really like to play my build the way it was meant to be played with my friends who use fire.

Edit: Just to summarize, it shouldn't be the case that playing co-op with my friends deletes the primary source of damage from my build.
