Mana flask hitting HP - Not the flask that does this - Video included

In video I lower my mana, then use my mana flask. See my HP go down slightly on flask use. I show all my skills and nodes.

I believe this is only after the most recent patch, and is occurring on instant recovery flasks. While not in the video you can do this with an HP instant recover flask and it will keep tapping your hp down, fighting your hp regen.

This has been a problem if your MoM and using instant flasks near a 50% cap regen where it would delete your HP in past. That bug report was never addressed.

This testing is a new scenario and no mobs are around me.

People have had bugs with flask usage related to a number of equipment things. It might be something they can't fix in a hotfix.

Another example that has come up has been losing loaded crossbow bolts.


I think the conclusion people reached had something to do with weapons/armour essentially being unequiped+reequiped when using flasks if you required stats from gear to equip gear. But I don't recall exactly how the issue works.

Potentially but the problem surfaced after the patch today that was a hotfix. I have a suspicion that this fix "Fixed a bug where if a player changed their maximum life, energy shield or mana (such as through equipping and unequipping items) their current life, energy shield, mana, overcapped mana, or overcapped energy shield would also increase." may be to blame.

Yeah did some testing, and its the hp from my body armour being taken away even though max does not change.

the other post I linked says same thing but with ES chest. My chest does not require any stats from gear, but is the item cause issues.

And as reply says above its only after this hotfix today.

Yea removing my body armor does nothing for fixing the issue I'm having. Even with the body armor removed, using any flask affects my ES.

It might be a result of requiring stats from any gear, not just from the piece that is being unequipped.

Your video shows that you have under 120 dex, and your gloves give +18 dex. If your body armour is an Advanced Rhoahide Coat, it would have a 105 dex requirement, meaning that you need stats from gear to equip it.

Do you still lose life on using a mana flask if you swap to some +dex passives temporarily?

exact same issue i had, i respeced some of my attribute nodes so that none of my current gear requires a different pieces stats to be equipped and the bug went away.

indeed what you're all saying about passiv nodes to be respeced worked for me aswell, still now I can't use some of my heralds or other skills, this isnt normal, they just need to fix this
