Act 3 is too long
Jiquani's Machinarium didn't have to be 2 maps. Or to be there at all.
Jungle Ruins + Infested Barrens + Chimeral Wetlands could have been 1 map. Matlan Waterways could be gone completely and the game would be better for it. Utzaal and Aggorat could be 1 map. Last bumped on Jan 9, 2025, 9:20:58 PM

I agree that Act 3 is too long, but disagree that the solution is to reduce the number of maps in it. Going from Act 3 to Cruel Act 1 is jarring with map sizes. That's when I realised Act 3 maps are too huge.
Years ago there was a comment made in another ARPG's pre-release hype & gripe. A dev pointed out "you want the player to experience a change in scenery often, else they get tired of the grind". Act 3's first half is "lots of huge maps and they're all jungle with minor variation to the terrain". Smaller maps and having Venom Ruins plus Azak Bog be mandatory to pass through would help break up the monotony. On another note, I half expect non-combat mounts to be a thing. Huge maps to travel around in kinda requires mounts after you've cleared the mobs. |

I actually like the length of act 3 and would argue act 1/2 aren't long enough for me.

The second is the difficulty of Viper Napuatzi. But I wouldn't reduce the number of locations, I would just shorten them. Alternatively, the map with water draining can be significantly shortened or delete. |

I kinda like Act3, I felt Act2 was too long and the colour pallet got very drab after a while.
I've done the campaign four times now and Act2 always stands out as the most boring. | |
The problem in my opinion is that the maps are too large and there is too much backtracking, finding this and finding that, pulling way too many levers, finding soul cores.. too much chores. Could be like go through the waterways and finally pull one lever and thats it.. now you explore the whole huge map and finally there is the damn soul core in the final little corner you missed.
I do like act3 areas visually more than act2 but i think there is too much annoying things in act3 you need to do and find and that slows the progress. I have played 5 classes to end game, and going for 6th atm. I do like the campaign but it could be more fluid experience. |

" They already said when the game comes out there will be all 6 acts. I love the length of them and I love the story. Devs added more checkpoints and teleports to them so you don't have to go back on foot. Just play it smart: when you see an entrance to a new area and know the waypoint is close to entrance, enter and discover it then go back and keep discovering previous area then repeat. There are areas where waypoints are not by the entrance but they are few. |
