So this is a story about Logbooks...
It was a cold night in early January or the Wraeclast equivalent of winter and our protagonist was fighting corruption across an ever expanding Atlas looking for a citadel or something... Plot is a bit loose
Anyways a logbook dropped with new realms and riches to pursue. Given the state of the questing for a citadel this new trinket might be worth exploring Alas there was a party involved (generally ill advised in the Atlas). A decision now needs to be made: Was this new item valuable? Should it be saved for solo exploration? What if someone dies? It will probably work like everything else- one map, one portal, no second chances, this game is not meant to be played with friends since they add difficulty for very little upside. Well our merry band gave it a shot and found themselves in a giant expedition. 20 bombs, cool... And the party died. Sad violin music plays. But one survived. Then a curious thing happened- upon reviving the formerly lost party members still had portals. Obviously takes them to a separate instance with no loot, just a bug. Poe2 dogma states one map, one portal, one life- this is known. But somehow through some glitch they loaded back into the hero's instance. Quickly they were dispatched again, lots of experience gone... No way they can come back again, glitches in the Matrix only happen once. But they still had portals- fewer in number so won't be able to gather as much loot to return with but they still had portals... Twice now THEY STILL HAD PORTALS So now our party has abandoned their quest for a citadel or whatever and is only interested in farming logbooks Unfortunately this makes the rest of GGGs choices a bit sour and all the critiques of multilayered death punishments a bit more valid. TLDR: Just farm logbooks, it's much more enjoyable especially if you are Atlasing with a friend. If maps just functioned like logbooks there would be much rejoicing or at least some slow claps. More likely it's a bug and logbooks will be nerfed to work like everything else. One map, one portal, one life. This is the way Last bumped on Jan 7, 2025, 4:01:44 PM
