150 hour review on ps5
Campaign 9/10
End game 9/10 Overall the game design is brilliant, no game is perfect but the core of this game is top notch. I only played the mercenary and sorceress. The Mercenary class was incredibly fun to play and build, no complaints at all. Sorceress I had mixed reviews , I did not like the spells especially early game, I felt like it was missing the traditional mage type spells but it does get better later on. The difficulty of the campaign is balanced perfectly and I was very addicted to keep going . End game was initially frustrating especially with the 1 life , initially I tried to push through as many tiers as I could and around tier 5-6 I totally ran out of gold and maps due to dying multiple times . At this point I was like WTF and was about to throw in the towel, than I realized that the problem was my gear and I pushed too far into the tiers with out keeping up with my gear requirements. I had no gold so I sold enough to buy a tier 1 map and instead of running tier 6 maps again i started planning my atlas map better with tower buffs and started doing tier 1 again than into tier 4 and so on. by than I started to build my map inventory and my gear started to get better , I reached my resistances finally over 50 for everything and by running lower tier maps to bounce back from being broke I also had a nice stock of maps again. After clearing my way to a bunch of towers with lower tier maps , and having a nice stock of maps again and some upgraded gear I began to run tier 6 maps again with all those juicy buffs and I no longer got 1 shorter as my gear was now up to par for tier 6 and forward . Initially I did not like the one life in end game , but after understanding how to progress in end game it was a great decision by the devs, it makes clearing challenging maps so rewarding. I also think the rarity of the drops are spot on, they do get much better as well once you build your atlas buffs. Biggest issue I had with D4 end game was the over whelming amount of loot that would drop and I had no idea wtf was good or bad, in POE2 at least ATM the loot drops are spot on, and I understand what gear i need and what to keep and what to sell. A few bugs/glitches I found on ps5 that will hopefully get fixed for retail release. - the skill gem satchel/bag is great but starts to get glitchy once you have a lot of inventory in it. - Frame drops when things get bussy on a map or in most towns. - No way to delete inventory bags, I was trying to buy a premium bag and the store froze i started pressing all buttons and when it un-froze I had purchased two ! flask bags… I don’t care about a refund but would be great if I could delete the bags as they drive me crazy. - I also purchased a few bag upgrades in the store , but when I try to rename my bags, the option is now there to rename them but when I hit save, it does not save the name. Things that I think would make this game a perfect 10/10 1. In game trade NPC to trade gear, just like the currency npc. using a website on console to trade sucks.. 2. Ability to have a loot filter on console , (auto pick up rare/unique/orbs ex…) 3. optimization to reduce some of the frame drops. 4. a way to tell if attack speed or skill speed would make firing a plasma blast faster ? ATM some of the passives I have no idea if their doing anything to my spells/abilities , the general description is great but there are many situations that I have no idea if a passive benefits my build or not . This is my 100% honest review for this game after 150 hours of play. Game is a gem and I hope the other half of the game for the retail release is just as good. Last bumped on Jan 5, 2025, 3:51:43 PM
