Request for Character Creation Customization in Path of Exile 2

Hi GGG team and fellow Exiles,

I’m thrilled about Path of Exile 2 and the incredible work you’re putting into it. I wanted to suggest some features that I think could enhance the experience for players who enjoy personalizing their characters.

1. Character Customization Options
Face and Skin Customization:
The ability to adjust face traits, skin tone, and add features like scars or tattoos. Tattoos could be applied to specific areas such as the face, arms, chest, or back.

Body Shape Customization:
Sliders to adjust body type (e.g., thin, athletic, muscular). To maintain class identity, sliders could have set minimum and maximum ranges based on the class. For example:
A thief could have a smaller height and thinner frame as their lowest range compared to a barbarian who would have a larger and more muscular frame as a baseline.

2. Armor Display Options
An option to toggle the visibility of specific armor parts (e.g., helmets, gloves, boots, or body armor).
This would allow players to showcase tattoos, scars, or other customizations while still benefiting from the equipped armor stats.
For example, if a player has detailed tattoos on their arms or chest, they could hide those specific armor pieces to let the customizations show.

3. Transmog and Future Enhancements
In the future, transmog options for individual armor parts or the ability to selectively display parts of body armors could be a natural extension of existing systems, further enhancing character fashion and customization.

I understand there are higher priorities during Early Access, but I believe these features would add great value for players who enjoy character creation and customization.

Awful ideas.

Popular and frequent feature of MMO's and some cRPG's.

Never a priority in PoE and won't happen in 2 pretty clearly. Besides you can't even see your face and no one else can either.

The characters are just that, characters. They have a backstory to them.

GGG did say they may consider doing some form of MTX that would let you change genders though.

Adding the option between male or female is pretty damn important in my opinion. I personally don’t want to feel forced to play as a female throughout my play through. People say that it doesn’t matter because your character is covered in armor which is somewhat valid but i still don’t want to have female voice dialogue or grunts from every and any action I do. I love the female classes but am leaning towards playing other classes just for this reason which is a bummer.
