deadeye ascendancy

on the deadeye ascendancy theres a node that gives 12 percent accuracy, okay fine. but when u go to the next node the node then says that you get no accuracy penalty at distance. so my question is whats the point of having the 12 percent accuracy when the follow up node removes the penalty? and hits up to 2m are a guranteed hit so its essentially just a dead ascendancy point that ur forced to put in so GGG could you please change the node to something more useful? cheers

I suppose in theory you could take the travel node (for additional accuracy -> dmg conversion) but not take the notable. I don't think that's particularly viable for any reason, but it is technically a possibility. I agree it'd feel better to change the node to something else (pls % movespeed)

The further the enemy is away, the less likely you hit him. Just because the accuracy penalty is removed, doesn't mean you automatically hit every attack now. There's still a chance to miss, especially against high evasion characters. So having 12% increased accuracy and having the penalty removed, gives you a close to 100% hit chance, even at max range.

Here you can see people suggesting, that PoE2 should show accuracy ratings / chance to hit for ranged characters as well:

hm but the thing is my chance to hit up to 2m is 100 percent so if the penalty further then that is rempved woulsnt that essentially just be a guranteed hit since the distance penalty is completely removed i get that evasion plays a role but it still is a underwhelming node

^yep what he said. OP is misunderstanding the node.

The mod that "removes" accuracy from the equation is "Hits can't be evaded".

This particular node just removes the built-in distance penalty that is NEW to PoE 2. Accuracy is still needed.

rangers get so much dexterity and flat accuracy from so many sources that evasion on mobs doesnt really do much and it just feels like the 12 percent ascendancy node is just a waste and very underwhelming

You have 100% hit chance if the enemy has 0 evasion. Enemies with high evasion still have a chance to dodge your attack, because it counters your hit-chance, which can't be shown in the character information. So these 2 nodes together give you a huge hit-chance boost and hard-counters evasion based enemies, especially at ranged.

edit: On a side node: Accuracy also increases your chance for "regular stun" on enemies, which disrupts their movements, attack animations or castings.

No....it doesn't. Physical damage stuns. Accuracy only tangentially increases stun chance by making more physical attacks land. If you are dealing no physical damage, or not enough to get over the threshold of the enemy, then accuracy plays no role.

Yes, and that's why it's good to have a huge hit chance. It increases your offensive potential (hit = damage) and your defensive potential (hit = normal stun / heavy stun build up). Well, and ofc everything else that scales with hits, like life/mana on hit.

And lets not forget that there is the node "Falcon Dive" that scales with you accuracy rating.
^yes but its misleading to say "accuracy increases stun chance". That's all I was pointing out. Because it doesn't.

I think OP already knows to get 100% or as close to 100% hit chance as possible.
