Are white mobs dealing more damage than bosses?

Since yesterday, I’ve mysteriously lost 50% of the XP I’ve been grinding due to repeated, unexplained deaths. Something needs to be done about this situation.
I have 3k HP and 27k Evasion. I used to support keeping the death penalty in the game, but it’s clear there are serious mechanical issues here. Until these problems are resolved, I now believe the death penalty should be temporarily removed. With Acrobatics, I have nearly 80% chance to evade everything, including spells. Yet, I can suddenly die to a white or blue mob. I can dodge or withstand boss attacks, but I can't escape this. It’s impossible to react because, before I even realize what's happening, I take 3k–5k damage—or however much it is—and I’m just dust. They quite literally turn me to dust. And of course, the camera is so close that poisons, arrows, and various spells hit you from areas you can’t even see on the screen. Most of the time, I play slowly, but with a controller, it’s impossible to properly aim at them. While their homing attacks hunt you down like a sitting duck, all you can do is run, wait for them to come closer, and hope the auto-aim finally locks onto them. Some monster types does a lot of physical damage. Game has over 400 monster types you can encounter so if you are unlucky you meet a lot of monsters that would hurt an evasion based(with low armour) character a lot. Especially if more than one of them are attacking you at same time. Some bosses do elemental damage which your resists will work well against and thus it could seem like the white mobs deal more damage than the boss.
