Time-Lost Jewels Need Improvement
|
Time-Lost Jewels look awesome, but are kind of crap in practice. Currently only a few locations stand out as great locations for Time-Lost Jewels (i.e. under the snowflake cluster at the top), while most other Jewel locations are starved for good nodes that will actually be used. This means certain builds enjoy huge benefits, while Time-Lost Jewels are mediocre for everyone else. But a few small tweaks could make them amazing.
1: Make their stats searchable on the trade site so we can actually get the ones we want. (I'm sure this was just a simple mistake). 2: Move Jewel Locations from their current spots to the center of large clusters where you currently have the cluster art. Pros -- This radically improves the performance of Time-Lost Jewels since they will now be good in dozens of locations. Cons: This radically improves the performance of Time-Lost Jewels since they will now be good in dozens of locations. At this point Time-Lost Jewels would be strictly better than regular jewels in almost all cases. A cap on the number you can use or some other significant limitation seems prudent. While this does increase the number of Jewels slots on the passive map, there is still a large "paywall" behind getting to the center of those clusters. (Maybe) 3: Change Radius magnitude from a rolled stat to a stat determined by shortest path to the origin (possible, not allocated). This addresses the "outer rim" problem where nodes are father apart and there is empty space beyond the passive map. It also addresses the "dense center" issue where there are more more nodes of all kinds in small spaces. This may also necessitate a level floor to use Time-Lost Jewels, or simply not putting Jewel nodes among the early nodes (as is the case now). Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 3:10:23 PM
