Trading During Boss Fights = Frustrating
|
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding how trade is working in POE 2 during Boss Fights.
It feels very frustrating losing out on trades because you are in the middle of a boss fight. In POE 1, for campaign boss fights you could open a portal and complete the trade, then continue the boss fight. But in POE 2, completing the trade causes you to completely restart the entire fight from the beginning. Normally this would not be a problem, but most major campaign boss fights in this game can last as long as 15-20 minutes... Not to mention even trying to write back to the person to let them know you are in a boss fight means almost certain death. This includes using macros, as during the split second you activate the macro you may need to dodge a 1-shot attack. Personally I believe trade needs to be closely looked at in POE 2, as it feels very different then in POE 1. What does everyone else think? Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 11:53:15 AM

Personally I make people wait until I’m ready to trade. Now you add in consoles who will not type anything because it will take too long to respond. A lot of people complaining about trade and forgetting that they had over a million people purchase early access. Even seen a lot of people begging for trade board. I’m sure everyone will love to see spam offer popping up on screen mid fight. They definitely need to bring in a system that is more functional. Alva was nice because when a sale completes it just changes the icon over her head. Also would help addressing price fixing if forced to sell at listed prices.

" Which is great, until the person moves on to message the next person and you lose the trade. I understand making people wait in endgame where you are looking at selling high-end gear, but when running through the campaign for the first time, where trading and upgrades are critical, it is very frustrating missing out. " I thought there is one on these forums? But I get that this is not in-game and is VERY clunky for console players. If you have a computer, you will probably be playing POE 2 on the computer and not on a console, so why would a console player post on the forums. " Would be interesting to see this, but I understand that it would essentially amount to a auction house. Auction houses tend to not be good for a games economy, as its much easier and faster to trade your way to good gear, rather then play your way to good gear. (And yes, I realize you can already do this through currency flippping.) |

just bring up your skill tree to pause the game, send them a msg saying youre in a fight and youll be done in a sec.. if they buy something else..get over it

It's primarily a trading game, makes no sense for trading to be so complicated.
I know the game has a no-trade mode, but almost no one plays that. Game needs an in-game real money auction house. |

You can’t pause during a pinnacle boss fight

you gotta choose to play or trade - If im mapping I turn off my trade boxes - yes u will miss sells, but its easier to just turn it off when gaming.
In game since Minotaur League..

" I was stating in game facts personally I play on both. Hence why I am on the forums. You did ask people to share their opinions. We all play on same servers and no matter what your seeing a massive impact in trade due to this. Most don’t know how bad Console market was with price fixing and other annoying things that are popping up in trade. I was just referring to things that exist and have been tested and don’t provide a solution to said problem. |

" Apologies, I did not meant to come across as disagreeing with you. :) I was just trying to empathize with console players by saying that console players have an even harder time currently then PC players. (And this is coming from someone who exclusively plays on the computer.) Last edited by King_Yoshi#4778 on Jan 4, 2025, 11:53:28 AM
