Delirium is not and never optional.
This also applies to PoE1.
You get extra monsters, exclusive rewards, if you instill your maps. If you don't do it, you miss out on that. It only gives you advantages, no disadvantages. It makes maps more dangerous, but that's not really a downside because it's just a risk/reward decision. The result: a) You look at a grey screen, all the time. b) You listen to the same music, all the time. Poor Kamil. c) You hear the same whispering voices, all the time. And you'd better not turn off the sound effects volume, because you won't be able to hear the sound of deadly ground effects being covered by loot, oneshotting through 10kEHP. All the time. I am baffled. You had over 5 years. With most other design decisions, you realised that choices matter. Here they suddenly don't. Remember, this is the same in PoE1. Delirium or less loot/xp. I really love Delirium, the idea behind it. Dealing with psychology, fear, despair... all of it. But it is so game-altering that it should not always be economically necessary. This applies to literally any other piece of league content. Ritual, breach, expedition. They all involve "additional monsters, additional rewards, additional things to do, with no disadvantages".
It only feels bad to people that don't want to run it because we don't have the PoE1 QoL of getting to choose to exclude mechanics. Give it time. I cannot fathom them not bringing in the same QoL. This is also particularly funny right now when the most powerful league mechanic to run is Breach, not Delirium. |

No.
Deli is different, since you can have it on the side of all the other mechanics. that's what makes it mandatory. Edit: and since you said breach is most rewarding. You better run it with deli exclusively. Exactyl my point. Last edited by _piekz#3750 on Jan 3, 2025, 10:27:40 AM

I really hate how much "illusion of choice" juicing this game has already. |

Instilling waystones should not give us delirium effect. It just should look like a regular map. Keep that effect for delirium only. Just because 21% of the packs are delirious doesn't mean we are completely doing delirium mechanic in the map.

You know what, I forgot you are supposed to fog up your maps until I saw this post. Now all of my maps will be gray too. Thanks.

The grey fog effect has to go. It makes all maps look the same in this grey dull color and it decreases visibility.
They have to come up with a better idea for visualization and effects. |

I will say the lines the delirium voice whispers are much better than PoE1's, those were downright depressing to hear when trying to enjoy some escapism from a rough day.
agree that fog/music makes it less enjoyable. On Vaal forge, the fog actually makes some enemies impossible to see (may be monitor settings) "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

I hate that anointing amulets is now gated behind it. I'd never touch Delirium otherwise - yes, even if it means getting less loot / XP. It's so off-putting, visually, but also mechanically.
I really dislike they brought this over from PoE 1. When night falls
She cloaks the world In impenetrable darkness |
