I can't understand Delirium

Hi everyone, i'm a new player on PoE2, never played first.
i've already reached endgame and at the moment i'm lv75 infernalist witch, trying to understand the new maps mechanics following yt guides or simply asking the chat in game.
There is still one mechanics that i can't understand and i can't find ANYWERE someone that actually describes it (maybe i'm too stupid), i'm talking about delirium mirror: i've done 4-5 maps with it but i've only successfully completed 1. From what i understood, you go in the mirror, a fog begins to spread for all the map, you kill the monsters that spawn in the fog and you get rewards based on how many you've killed. But for some reason the fog disappears in less than a minute in every map i've done so far (one map bugged and it never ended until i teleported back and dropped the rewards while teleporting).
I don't think it's a problem of map clearing since my minions oneshots everything they see, i'm pretty fast right now at clearing so i would exclude this possibbility, but i can't see others...
I can't understand what i'm doing wrong, please help me, i'm starting to lose my mind.

ye the fog is supposed to dissapear if you dont keep foing further away from the mirror, if you keep going away it lasts longer, if you stay arounf the area it spawned it dissapears faster, if you get 3-4 rewards youre doing good, delirium kinda doesnt fit very well with PoE 2 tbh, at least in it's current iteration.

Thanks for the reply, but now i'm even more confused... i JUST failed a mirror by just going forward, it was a litterally a corridor so there is no way i could've gone other directions, it lasted like 15 seconds...
Did you move too quickly? The fog expands outwards from the mirror, so if you rush on ahead then you'll be in front of the fog's area and start the Delirium timer that way.
maybe that was the problem, but i can't see the border of the fog, i see it everywere and i think i'm inside it, i should record myself and be more focused on the border maybe. thx for the help, now i did another one and i completed it with 5 rewards
If only GGG could help new players by adding quests in the Acts, that explain each of these mechanics; like breaches, citadel, stat gamble system etc. Missed opportunity imo.

I mean, we are missing 3 acts if I understand correctly.
I've been pushing through maps too, and the most I've ever reached on a Delirium mirror has been 5 or 6 rewards. I think you're reaching par for leveling!

Some of them definitely seem to last longer than others at the start. Make sure you're tagging the big light blue Fractured Mirrors to spawn more enemies while you're clearing the map.
Being in the fog also somehow debuffs your char horrendously.

Crits happen less often, ailments less often, and it feels I have enfeeble on all the time.

There is a clear hidden debuff and it should be visible.

delirium is when the screen turns black and white and some extra mobs come out and the game freezes. if you’re lucky you get to pick some crap off the ground. another
one of the devs awesome end game systems.
