One with the River node

The One with the River node in the Quarterstave cluster says it give defenses when wielding a staff, which is its own category, not a quarterstaff. I haven't taken the node yet so I'm unsure if it still gives the 30% defenses while wielding a quarterstaff, and if that's the case then it must be a typo.
