New Player Help - combat frenzy and resonance

Im a level 42 invoker monk. I have combat frenzy and resonance and charged staff. I have the required 60 spirit. Im trying to get the "unlimted power charges" for the charged staff but i cant get power charges anymore. only frenzy charges.. can any one help me out

You only need 30 spirit for combat frenzy, add profusion to combat frenzy to get 2 charges sometimes. Make sure you activate frenzy on the skills panel page. Then you get resonance, and now when you freeze things you get frenzy charges, which are converted to power charges from resonance.

Your main skill should likely be tempest flurry or ice strike. Obviously bell too.

Put cold exposure and cold infusion and primal armament on your tempest flurry with the first two being more important. This greatly helps with the amount of freezing you will be doing. You also want martial tempo but you probably wont get 4 support slots for the gem until later in the game.

Close combat and magnified effect or ice bite are good for bell.

Tempest flurry and bell will be doing most of the freezing. You can also get shattering palm with glaciation to prime them for a quicker freeze and jump into melee range. Blind on shattering palm is also great.

Charged staff should used once you get a power charge, and then keep it at max stacks if you can. Charged staff should also be shocking, use conduction and persistence on charged staff, then eventually overcharge and lightning exposure.

You obviously need cold damage to attacks on something, on either your staff, rings or gloves. Unless you use ice strike instead of tempest flurry, that converts physical damage to cold.

Cold infusion only requires a level 1 support gem.


Right click a uncrafted support gem, scroll to the bottom on the left panel and click All Gems, search for infusion and then click it and then click engrave.

Oh right, I would just use the attack speed then for now with Martial Tempo, the faster you attack the faster you get your bell.

You're not using elemental focus are you? That prevents elemental ailments. Biting frost also can't be used with as that prevents freeze build up.

If you're getting frenzy charges from freezing then you don't have resonance.

i most def have resonance and i dont see the other two you listed. would you mind hopping in a discord VC with me to help me out?
