Spawn rate of Olroth

Hey, I just did the 10 red tier Logbooks I assembled on the way to level 90 in the hopes of getting some Atlas tree points for Expedition. Unfortunately I didn't spawn the boss even once.

Does anyone know how often he's supposed to show up? Also does he spawn in Logbooks below tier15? (had only 3 of those)

I think it has to be level 80+ Knights of the Sun encounter, but I'm not entirely sure. I only had one of those logbooks so far and got Olroth to spawn on the first try.

Thanks for the reply. Not a big enough sample size to say anything, but at least it's a start :D

I've run about 50 books yesterday and it seems to be about 20% chance to spawn
edit: i dont actually run them if theres no boss cause not really worth the time, thats why so many

Did another 30 today, got him 7 times

Give up on him now tho only bad drops and getting expensive

hey, thanks for the stats. Can u elaborate what zone levels those were and did he only spawn on Dannig missions or just rng?

And yeah, the logbooks really seem lackluster. Even for Artifacts the time needed to set them up and run is not worth it imo.

It's rng doesnt matter what type you pick, i always picked the top one :D

The reason why I think it needs Knights of the Sun encounter is because that was the requirement in POE1, from the wiki:

"

Olroth, Origin of the Fall is a boss that can only appear inside Expedition Logbook areas with zone level 81+ marked with Knights of the Sun.

And also because his official name is Olroth, Undead Commander of the Knights of the Sun. It might be the same requirement in POE2, but again I don't know for sure.

Rikku, did you find Olroth in encounters other than knights of the sun?

Yes 100%, he was on all type of maps Gwennen/Dannig etc

First i also thought the map matters but we only got 1 expedition boss in EA so GGG just added him to every map

Ok good, because the one encounter I had with him I didn't expect the second phase and some weird attack plus beam melted me so I'm looking forward to my second encounter. I have several level 80 logbooks ready to go.

Did 3 more logbooks and finally got him. It was in an Dannig encounter, but that could be just random.

Very nice encounter, but I was unfortunately already pretty overgeared. Let's see how hard the higher difficulties get.
