GGG I beg you - give us back 6 attempts at the content.

Alrigh, this is a cry for help. I am enjoying an the game. Apart from POE1 this is the best ARPG out there by huge margin. I understand that this is a different game from POE1, I am embracing and mostly enjoying this fact, even with all the changes that I was skeptical about before the game came out and I am accepting most of your decisions where you want the game to go.

However the fact, that we have only 1 attempt at our maps, expedition logbooks, bosses etc. is killing me.

Let's face it - this mechanic is just a pure evil, anifun buzzkill and depression combined.

I understand that POE2 is not as casual easy mode game as Diablo or others - "you died? Here, have a candy and nothing happens". I get it that you are trying and for more then 10 years succeeding to set different trends and standards for the most incredible ARPG experience in the world.

But I feel that the punishment in POE2 is disproportional to the foundation of videogames - firstly and foremostly games should be fun. After that of course comes challenge that we need to overcome and I believe that there are (and I am certain that in future there will be much more) lots of challenges in the game already.

Look, we lose XP when our characters die. Let's be honest - on level 70 it is no biggie, you get the lost XP in one map. In levels 90+ it is a big setback, on level 95+ the setback is in hours of grinding. I am not a fan of this mechanic to be honest (yeah, I hear you pro players, "git gud casual scum.."), but I understand that the difficulty of the game is simply higher tuned than the rest of the games out there. Your choice and I fully respect it.

I am aware that there are players who consider this a fun and fulfilling challenge and enjoy the one attempt at a map and I am truly happy for them.
I also understand that there are players who are much better then me in the game and they are propably immensely enjoying the game. But let's face it, those are the top 0,5% of player base.
I believe that I speak for the majority of the playerbase when I cry for help that the one attempt at endgame content is pure evil and it is sucking the fun out of one of the greatest games I have played in my life.

I can't tell you how many times I have been happily running around the map, having cleared like 90% of the map content and then randomly dying to some event that I did not notice or I was not even able to infuence. So many times I have died in a narrow corridor because for example a rare made some lighting/fire/cold circles around the whole corridor and even if I had the time to react and I was aware of the situation, i had absolutelly nowhere to go / dodge roll just because the map will not let me. Or how many times i have died to purely bad RNG.

You are basically forcing us to either cry in depression or on ridiculously overinvest into our defences to be prepared for the 0,1% encouters that destroy our attempt at the content due to bad RNG on regular maps, on bosses we have no chance to learn the bossfight ourselves, we have to let some guy on youtube spoil the fight for us, teach us the fight or just call a carry guy from the TFT, because we have no chance to try the fight ourselves without losing hours of preparation.

This is not a challenge, this is pure evil. This is not enjoyable experience this is sucking all the fun out of the game.

This difficulty setting just scales so much with all the rest of the stuff the game is throwing at us - this is not % increased difficulty, this is not even % more difficulty, this is exponentially more difficluty ( can you spot the wannabe clever POE joke here? ). We already have very little influence over which map we run - i am not a fan of the narrow corridors map, but when the atlas rolls me a boss or a breach or something fun on the map, i have to run it. We have very limitted options to get good waystones - since there are no alterations / scouring , we go with what the RNG gives us. (i understand that this might change in the future since we are in EA). If we fail once, we lose everything we worked for.

I beg you on my knees - please give us back 6 attempts.

Thank you for reading my desperate plea.

6 portal system works fine for a very good reason, just bring it back.

Right now PoE 2 just feels like cbt-simulator with the amount of overly harsh punishment. It's like the game is screaming that it hates the player. Endgame is just an endless pit of despair and futility.

Having only 1 portal on a boss you've never seen before that took over 100 hours to grind out the invitation(and that invitation costs like 1-4 divines) is horrendously bad game design that will make people quit as soon as they reach these endgame encounters.
