Death Penalty is Ruining The Game

So, this may be controversial for the die hard POE fans, but the current penalty for death is literally ruining the game for me. Generally, as soon as I die I just alt f4 the game and have not played it again within the same day while sometimes taking an additional day or two before I boot it back up.

Losing your map path, waystone, a crap load of exp and just the overall experience that death is still generally caused by a one shot, horribly telegraphed ability or the game crashing... All of those added up really just destroyed any amount of fun I have had for the five minutes to five hours that I was playing for prior to dying.

Yes, I have literally died a few minutes in to a map because I get barraged by those spider poison spitter things that stun me from off my screen and I just insta-die in their next shot.

All of my resistances are capped, above capped actually and I have a 4k energy shield with a 3.7k mana absorb as well (probably hovers around 3k while I'm doing trash).

I have finished my atlas quests and I'm struggling to stay engaged simply because, unless I play perfect the entire time I play, it's just not worth the effort or time.

Am I alone in thinking this? Do you agree or disagree?
